I was thinking, I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the buying of housing plots...
I understand the purpose of the random timer, but would it maybe be better/possible to implement a house auctioneer NPC who has a list of all available plots in each ward/area; and players can bid once per house and be entered into a lottery system of sorts? If you get a house, you are automatically removed from pools for other houses.
I don't know if that would be possible or something anyone would like better than the current "Find a place, camp/check back repeatedly and click either nonstop or every few hours hoping that you click during that window before someone else".

Please give us a 8+ slot garden with no scarecrow
Scarecrow does not go with minimalist or eastern decor, or even look good next to high production value items from later patches.
I have a few ideas that I think are simple and reasonable to implement
I recently lost my house to demolition, which mostly I feel embarrassed and a lot of shame about, but I’m gonna validate myself and say my life has been insane, and I have spend many many hours in it and decorating it. The past month and a half I logged outside my house and generally afk’d there when doing weeklies. And as stupid as I am I just forgot about demolition, cause I’m using my house right? Why would I lose it.
Yes it’s incredibly easy to walk into your house, but... well junk happens, life happens, and people shouldn’t have their house demolished that they do in fact use regularly/have worked really hard on.
2 easy quality of life changes
-Send demolish notifications to moogle mail/support notifications(if mail is full). I have like 10 emails for work etc, I don’t check the one ff14 is on. And it benefits players who are actually playing to receive notifications in game.
And/or
-Reset demolition when you, the owner, teleport to your estate. There is a reason location is important in housing, so if you’re using your location it makes sense to reset the timer.
I understand demolition is a bandaid solution to larger issues, and I want to say that I overall disagree with the idea of demolition in game houses. But yes there is a lot of underlying issues that I can leave to the smarter people. I think these 2 changes are reasonable and would be helpful to those who are busy but still deserve to keep their house.

The players asked for the demo timer, at one time it didn't exist. Imagine what the housing situation was where if anyone left for an indeterminable amount of time but got to keep their plot...A plot which is limit supply and finite. Swaths of houses that simply couldn't be accessed because players that left and had no intention of returning months/years ago, but also didn't want to demo the plot.I have a few ideas that I think are simple and reasonable to implement

The demo timer makes sure the house is seeing a degree of use, while those not using it are removed and the plot goes back up for auction for those who may get more usage out of it.
The timer is a necessary evil, if people want their plots as bad as they say they will actively keep them in use, and if they don't. No player is going to feel bad some person who didnt enter their plot in 45 days that lost it due to not entering the house. It gives those who are willing utilize the house a chance to win the plot.

Just get inside the house, it’s not that hard *facepalm*

My suggestion would be an option to turn off effects for other players' outdoor housing items! I mentioned it in a thread I posted last night asking if such a toggle exists, but some housing effects are really obnoxious, like the hearts spewing out from the Valentione's Day event housing item (idek what it's called, it doesn't even show up in the outdoor housing preview window) or the creaking noises from the Namazu effigy. Aesthetics interrupting gpose aside, it could help for players with weaker systems by giving them less to render.
