Boys and girls, one of our most highly requested feature have been answered!

New blank partition furnishings have been added, which can be decorated with several wallpaper designs.



There are four types of blank partitions available, which can be used in free company estates, private estates, apartments, and private chambers. Moreover, there is no limit to the number of these furnishings allowed in an estate.

Selecting a blank partition will give players the option to apply wallpaper designs.



To remove wallpaper designs, select the partition and select Remove Design.
* Wallpapers removed from a blank partition will be lost.



Granted it's going to burnt wallpaper like nuts unless the housing NPC sells them once you obtain one copy of it, but I highly doubt it. That and the door partition will probably be missing this option as well as part of the usual housing oversight/silly restrictions.

With that say, I would like to say "BIG THANK YOU!!!" to the housing team for implementing this, seriously... A tear rolled down my cheek when I read this portion of the patch note earlier today. TAT

This is nice, but I see an issue already, if this item is interactive (the blank partition) and you can only have 40 per floor of any interactive item before walls will now start to disappear. Why not have them Craftable like a normal partition with the wallpaper design set in it (Mog Partition etc), not only makes sense, but prevents this new issue.

If it isn't interactive, and uses the same menu as setting wallpaper / light / floor for the estate, then your limited to only one design per floor which isn't that great...

Yup, I did mentioned that as well. I thought of a two ways going about this before:

1. Give us a dynamic "chameleon" partition that will auto-duplicate the wallpaper of the floor it's place on
2. Manual crafting of X wallpaper partition

But this is the option SE decided to went with instead. Putting aside the issue of 40 interactive furniture limitations which should still be solve at some point of time irregardless of the new blank partition, I'm pondering over what advantage it brings over the manual crafting option, since both option will presumably consume a wallpaper to function. This leads me to speculate that they might (hopefully) design some sort of "Partition Wallpaper Log" in the future based on the Orchestrion system. If it succeed, then perhaps it might be further extend to the exterior housing skin as well, which a similar question was asked before on one of the LL/event.

...I'm probably being over-optimistic though :/

For now I'm just thankful for having the blank partition and will try to work my way around the limitations. Also, can we still have the chameleon partition in the future please? Well, unless we actually get to have some kind of "Partition Wallpaper Log". >_<



On a different note, can I request a checkbox system option in the Orchestrion unit to disable the fade-in/out effect please? I find the music flow incoherent if you happen to have the same sound track back-to-back. Like for my Glade-Haukke style manor, I have 4x Dark Vows and 4x Blackbosom in my playlist so each of the two track will loop for a longer duration before it switch to the next. However, with the current system, it's pretty distracting when the system start playing the next track even if it is the same track as the current one. Hopefully we can get an option down in the road to disable that.

With the implementation of Wallpaperable partitions (which is amazing, we also need wallpaper riviera doors!!!) I have a request to the developers, please make Seasonal Wallpapers available for purchase with gil or as rewards during seasonal events.

I don't really want to turn this into a cash shop vs non cash shop debate or anything... but when it comes to wallpaper for seasonal events, I really think it is something that should be available in game since it is a consumable item. I would love to decorate my FC house and personal house (patricians and walls) with Eerie Wallpaper during Halloween, but considering I need about 30 different wallpapers to be able to do that, it is just not reasonable, considering it is $150 for something that would be used for 2-3 weeks. Same with all the other holidays.

They showed a screenshot of being able to select wallpapers from "available" wallpapers. I'm hoping available in this case means whatever wallpapers you have applied to your house currently and whatever wallpapers you have in your inventory.

If SE is being kind it will copy the wallpaper from inventory instead of consuming it and the note about it being lost on removal is to stop people from creating endless duplicates. But what I fear is that it will only be from wallpapers in inventory and consume them which means 1 per partition...

I don't meant to be the wet blanket, but I think it would probably be just like the existing flower vase/aquarium system. Of course, I'd gladly eat my own words if the housing team prove otherwise.

It also states the wallpaper will be destroyed once changed, so it's more likely just showing the wallpapers the demo character had in their bags.

There's also a quantity shown next to the wallpaper.

So yay that they have it, but we still need a way to not lose fixtures and/or for these new partitions use the wallpaper from existing floor (match floor 2 for example and if floor 2 gets change, all partitions matching floor 2 get changed).
