What is the reason there is no access to a mansion balcony?

If I had to guess I'd say that the balcony doesn't effectively exist as more than a couple polygons with some bump mapping and texturing. It was something the artists created to look nice on the outside then realized it would be odd to not have a corresponding door on the inside and painted on onto the wall. Creating an actual balcony would require rebuilding the front wall of all the large houses which isn't a small undertaking and probably a low priority in their grand plan for development.

Regardless of why though, I agree it would be nice. If it happens this expansion I would expect it to happen with shirogane, otherwise keep hoping for 5.0+.

It has solid ground, which makes it completely odd as to why there is no easy access to it. Tons of FCs with mansions made various ways to get up onto the balcony. I can't say the methods and items used were ever attractive looking (hence why you don't see it much anymore).

I can't imagine adding another entry/exit bubble being too difficult, especially since it's only on mansions and there's only three of those per ward. I could see that as being a reason why it's not done, because so few houses use it, it's not been added, even after such a long time of requests.

Basically, 2,880 houses (after Shirogane) use only 1 entry and exit. Only 288 houses would potentially use 2 entry and exits. Would that 288 really be worth it to have to recode to have access to a balcony? The answer is probably not.

I know there must be like 20 more posts about this on here. But please SE! Give us FC apartment style housing! In prep for the upcoming housing migration I've saved up enough for my fc to have a cozy little house... assuming we can make it in time. I'm literally stressing over whether or not my fc gets a digital house... its ridiculous.

SE could even take the opportunity to make lager scale apartments. its instanced, costs less money, and is readily available. I don't know how the coding works but surely this can't be a huge hurdle with the new servers SE is using.

Can we please have the thing fixed where the interactive items disappear if you are too far? It makes me not even want to decorate...when I am on the other side of the room ALL the stuff you can interact with disappears and the house looks empty.

That's specifically due to the amount of interactive items. If you cull them down to around 40 they should stop disappearing. Would still love for it to be fixed though, not sure what exactly causes it.

Boys and girls, one of our most highly requested feature have been answered!

New blank partition furnishings have been added, which can be decorated with several wallpaper designs.



There are four types of blank partitions available, which can be used in free company estates, private estates, apartments, and private chambers. Moreover, there is no limit to the number of these furnishings allowed in an estate.

Blank Riviera Partition Blank Glade Partition Blank Oasis Partition Blank Hingan Partition
Selecting a blank partition will give players the option to apply wallpaper designs.



To remove wallpaper designs, select the partition and select Remove Design.
* Wallpapers removed from a blank partition will be lost.



Granted it's going to burnt wallpaper like nuts unless the housing NPC sells them once you obtain one copy of it, but I highly doubt it. That and the door partition will probably be missing this option as well as part of the usual housing oversight/silly restrictions.

With that say, I would like to say "BIG THANK YOU!!!" to the housing team for implementing this, seriously... A tear rolled down my cheek when I read this portion of the patch note earlier today. TAT

With the implementation of Wallpaperable partitions (which is amazing, we also need wallpaper riviera doors!!!) I have a request to the developers, please make Seasonal Wallpapers available for purchase with gil or as rewards during seasonal events.

I don't really want to turn this into a cash shop vs non cash shop debate or anything... but when it comes to wallpaper for seasonal events, I really think it is something that should be available in game since it is a consumable item. I would love to decorate my FC house and personal house (patricians and walls) with Eerie Wallpaper during Halloween, but considering I need about 30 different wallpapers to be able to do that, it is just not reasonable, considering it is $150 for something that would be used for 2-3 weeks. Same with all the other holidays.
