Housing Ideas and Feature Requests

I'm not too sure if there has been official response about it before, but can we please have the feature to place our retainers indoors like the one we had outside? I renovated my house to look like a haukke manor/glade style inn and all I need is to dress up one of my retainer like ghost Edda and place her in one of the rooms in my basement. :x

I'd love this too. Retainers are supposed to be personal assistants, aiding the WoL in a variety of ways (thanks, Minfilia, at least we get something out of killing primals); it doesn't make much sense that they're not allowed into the house.
It would make an house feel a little bit more "alive" too. I don't like the idea of a random ugly npc selling crafting material, but my retainers cooking or welcoming me dressed as butlers, or just hanging out in their room? Count me in.

I'd like to see more flower plots (like the Lupin, Sunflower, Oriental Grass) that are NOT square shaped. Maybe shape them like a circle, or rectangle or triangle (for corners). For reference there are sections of circular flowers in the Dappled Stalls, right in front of the housing merchant.

It's incredibly hard to place bunches of square flower sections without it looking like someone mowed them down on a side... :/

P.S: We NEED the ability repurchase previous seasonal housing items (cherry blossom trees, twinkle boxes, wallpapers, etc.) if we've participated in the event. Put them on the salvager already or stop adding more housing based items to seasonal events.

P.P.S: We also need the housing limits increased for both indoor/outdoor items on ALL housing models. Make it happen. My small yard is half bare.

P.P.P.S: It would be ideal if the lighting feature could be separated into upstairs/downstairs. Some of us would like a gloomy basement without blacking out the rest of the house...

Side Note: Why are bathtub models limited to "1 per estate" that makes 0 sense.

On a side note, "1 per estate" should be removed along with "destroyed upon removal". Also, I would love to have a smaller bathtub that's designed for 1 to 2 player please.

P.S housing limits are confirmed to be in the works according to the last official response on said topic, question now is when.

I'm sure all of these have already been said but what features I want added are:

1. Partition doors that are not limited to just Riviera design.

2. When you add a new partition it automatically matches whatever interior wall design you currently have.

3. A logbook that records everyone who enters that is not you/a tenant/another FC member.

4. I would like comment cards so people can leave general comments about the house. I would suggest a rating system but that would get abused too much.

5. Adding a Wardrobe furnishing should allow you to store whatever equipment you want inside of it. Limiting it to just the owner/room owner in a FC. I sadly doubt we'll get this though.

That'd be neat, I wanted to compliment somebody for the way they decorated their place in more than one occasion now. The problem I see with this though is that it'd get swarmed with RMT advertisment in a matter of minutes... This is why we can't have nice things :/

As much as I'd want this, yeah I don't see it happening in the near future; a piece of furniture like that would take up a lot of server space, especially if multiplied by every person on a server.
What I'd love to see at least is an expansion of the Armoire we already have, so it's not limited to special gear only. I'm OK with all the other limitations: no glamour, no color, no materia, no spiritbond or condition data gets saved, just the fact that you own that particular item and that you can take it out if you need. What the hell, I'm ok even if it was a paid feature (hopefully cheaper than an additional retainer, since you don't get to make more ventures or sell more things).

Partitions that match the walls would be something I'd love to see, and a guest-book.

I'd like to have a seasonal-wear item you could buy to use on your vendors and servants. It would change the vendor or servant's clothes to something that fits the festival, Witches garb for Halloween for example.
The vendors look especially drab, it would be great to be able to change their appearance.

I'd also like seasonal furnishings, wallpapers available to re-buy, if you took part in the event. It's so hard to store everything; I'd gladly pay each time and free up some storage space.

Adding my vote to partitions that change to the current wallpaper and Glade/ Oasis style doors, I've always found it strange there's only one kind. I also agree with letting players change the interior style of the house - I understand the exterior being restricted to the style of the zone you're in, but the pillars/ stairs inside should be changeable. It doesn't seem fair to be limited with the themes you can pull off just because you bought your house in a certain zone.

Some other features I'd like:

- An Iceheart portrait! Please SE, make this happen!

- Related, I'd like the Shiva/ dragon statue we see in the heretics' hideout at the Gorgagne Holding. There's far too few HW-related items in the game altogether (hopefully this will change if Ishgard housing is indeed implemented?) Shiva-themed furniture too please!

- More picture items. Right now we have the map and three small pictures of the city-states, and wall decoration feels very limited. Also, bigger pictures - both for decoration and saving on furniture slots. The game's scenery is beautiful and there's an endless selection - we could have large, sweeping landscapes of the Forelands, the Western Highlands, Urth's Fount, Gridania at night, the Lost City of Amdapor, etc. We could also have tapestries, related to lore of the game - e.g. depicting the war between Ul'dah and Sil'dih, the birth of the city-states, Thordan and his Knights, like this:



- The option to turn off all light-related furniture options - the fireplace, lamps, etc.

- More flowers/ trees/ bushes for the garden, a lot of us like our greenery and the "overgrown" look, but there aren't many options. I'd love some of the plants we see in SMA for houses, particularly the glowing ones:



Some plants that cling to the side of the house, like ivy or wisteria, would also be a nice touch.

- Last but not least, a personal gardening log where we can log our intercross results!

I'm with Lunaxia on an expansion to the variety of plants and paintings available. I'd like to see some beast tribe, monster, landscape and dungeon based paintings. Big ones that take up a nice chunk of wall space. I'd also like to request a topiary tonberry with a bright functional lantern. It'd also be nice to be able to throw together the large garden plot and some of the outdoor items (topiary, trees, lighting) to create some unique replacements for the scarecrow. For the inside I would very much like to see a variety of water features such as a water wall (flat water feature that would fit over one section of wall, or a "water partition"), small tabletop fountains and larger ones for both against the wall and out in the open areas.

I'd like:
- a wall hanging lit torch (a real fire).
- small ghostlights (light globes) you could freely place in 3D space and use dye to color the light. These could be used for so many decorative things, giving light & shadows to statues, light up those demon wall sculpture eyes, etc.
