30 minute wait time for leaving??

So I abandoned a group. First time since that time I scored an RMT back in week 1.. and discovered I now am punished with a 30 minute wait!!! How is that fair? I never ever leave. But after spending 40 minutes dying over and over on the first boss in Sirius because your dps has level 45 gear on, struggles with basic game play and you, as the healer are tanking I kid you not 8 wolves you figure its time to cut your loses.

Could there not be a lesser penalty the first time you dodge in a day or something.. I mean I tried I sat there for 40 minutes pumping out the google translate and targeting each wolf as they spawned I Tried!!!!.

can they not at least just ban you from one type of queue so I can vent my rage on something different instead?

You should take the easy way out...force a DC on your end and not log back in for 5-10 minutes. You'll get kicked out of the instance automatically, with no penalty.

the ridiculous wait time is just going to encourage people to be dicks and force DC's or simply afk at the entrance and force someone else to quit.
I'm a nice person I take pride in helping others and will usually stick around to help some less fortunate through.. but there are times where people just refuse to listen or cooperate. I shouldn't be punished for those times. The summoner didn't use all three of their dots and would cast a skill once every 5-7 seconds and would run up to each mob at melee range before attacking. I as a sch was tripling their DPS. I can't help that no one can.

I mean let's do a mental exercise, do you think generally abandon groups for the right reasons or the wrong ones? If you think they do it for the right reasons, then fine there's no reason to have penalty. If you think they do it for the wrong reasons, well that's the reason for a penalty. I think the penalty in the long run is probably a good idea, since I doubt the majority of people who get truly horrible groups mind eating it to get out of there.

Just sit back at the beginning and have them vote kick you out? I don't think you incur a penalty for that, but tbh I think there should be one especially if the reason is harassment.

you could always just ask to be vote-kicked...
or vote-kick the person you don't think is pulling their weight if the party agrees with you they likely won't stay around.

The problem with being asked to be kicked or afking to get kicked is it can potentially be considered abuse of the system.

If the party is that bad I just usually suck up the timer and then go AFK in town, go do something else. You have to be the class you left as for the timer to count down.

I often find it's better to wait for the timer to cool down than to try and win in a party that bad.
