    Longer party combats

    Hello, i am leveling all my way partying with friends (yeah BW is good exp but is boring) exp is not bad, around 20k/hour but i feel dissapointed on FFXIV monsters. How is posible a mob, 10 levels more than me, to die in 10 seconds. and not only that, to give me only 0.4% of my level?

    i know SE did this to can level up solo or partying, but as healer (actually) i have no work to do (1 heal every 2 mobs or so). Coz this, i was thinking about a system that could work for both, solo and party, is not realistic system, but for me, could work giving more challenge to party leveling.

    Increase Mobs stats depend of engaged party size: (this numbers are justan example)

    Solo player -> opo-opo: 1000hp, 100atk, 100def, 200SP reward
    average time to kill: 20 secs -> 10SP/sec

    Duo -> same opo-opo: 2000hp, 150atk, 150def, 300SP reward
    average time to kill: 30 secs -> 10SP/sec

    Trio -> same opo-opo: 3000hp, 200atk, 200def, 400SP reward
    average time to kill: 40 secs -> 10SP/sec

    Light Party -> same opo-opo: 5000hp, 250atk, 250def, 500-600SP reward
    average time to kill: 50 -60 secs -> 10SP/sec

    I really dont like to overkill mobs one after another, killing everything in 10 secs for 200SP and 20 seconds moving around looking for another one.

    Sure, is not too realistic to see a thaumaturge killing alone an opo-opo for 100sp and u having a party of 4 having problems with same opo-opo with overstats, but i feel this could fix lots of things like zones overcamped when the new battle system come out and we all can level up partying killing mobs every 10 seconds...

    PD: sorry about my english ^^ sometimes i feel is not good enough.

    Enemies like efts, with high HP, are designed to give higher-number parties more SP per hour because their SP cap per kill is higher. Fight those, not the small woodland creatures. You'll see a nice rise in your sp per hour in a group, the fights will take long enough to do a big battle regimen in. It's well-designed, its just not advertised.

    i am killing efts right now (lvl 36-37) and they still are too weak for a party. I can remember at same level on FFXI (36) you need around 7K exp to level up, and killing Crawlers Workers (sweet!) give you 200 and 300 per chain that is 3-4% per mob. Sure, longer mobs, but u could feel some challenge.

    At 36 and 37, are you fighting the 45-49 efts or the 40-45 efts?

    treespeak ones, anyway u cant focus only on them coz they have more hp and sp reward, then all others 45-49 mobs are useless in the game?

    No, the other 45-49s are for smaller parties to chain low sp more quickly. Groups cap out the kill rates of low HP mobs. That's why there's a difference in SP between types of mobs, to buffer the effectiveness of parties of sizes 2-6.

    I agree with the OP, the mobs go down waaay to fast to be considered a challenge. Bring the challenge back and you will bring the subs back...

    not only that, we really dont need tanks to level up right now, any DPS can tank mob decently, and DPS partys are just insane.. tank+healer+damagers party plz damagers+offhealer is enough now to kill every leveling monster.

    That would mean going back to the FF11 system, where a tank can't kill and a DD can't survive to kill.

    The only effective SE solution we have seen was companion npc system.

    Though it's a bit easier to ramp up the difficulty now that you can't change eq on the fly. Especially if say the materia system actually penalizes switching eq.

    Or you can go tera's system of having "small" enemies follow a "big" enemy.

    My vote:

    Eliminate the dlvl modifier and let groups benefit from tackling harder mobs. You don't even need to keep the increasing SP linear, it can be logarithmic so that the increasing gain is less...but please give us some benefit. I can solo my +10 dlvl. What fun is that!! How can my character be heroic when incentivized to kill the same things in a large group that I can easily solo...
