Seeking server with a not-crashed economy.

I'm a crafter, it's what I do, it's what I love. And.... as many may have noticed, new players with little sense, rmt and god knows what else have made crafting a tedious chore with little pay off thanks to people undercutting one another by leaps and bounds, dropping the value of anything I make to abysmal levels.

Anybody playing on a server where things are still.. worth it?

I know how you feel. On my server, PvP gear went from 20k to 4k in less than a day. Potash and the such are down to 2k. I lose more money crafting 2-star high quality gear than I would simply selling the materials.
I highly doubt any server is much better off, and if it is, there is prolly far too few players on it to be worth moving to.

Good luck with that. I think currently all servers economies are crashing. Some more some less, but for sure every server has a slight crash, because everyon want to get his stuff sold and try to underbid the others.

The issue is that they allow people to level up crafters so easily without the cost to spend.
Unlike 1.0 where crafters were the main income resource, because it took a lot of invest to level up. (at least for first half year). High entry barrier to market.

    All markets everywhere are crashed.
Only way to make money (for now) is endgame skill.

The problem is that so many people are unaware of what's known as "opportunity cost". A common argument I hear is "The secret to making gil by crafting is to farm your own mats!" False. That does not let you make money by crafting, it simply earns you money by farming, and then you promptly lose it by crafting with your valuable ingredients. If more people took this into consideration, you'd probably see the price of gathered materials fall, while crafted items rose (both due to less people selling, and due to those people only selling if it's more than the gathered material cost.

Unfortunately, people do NOT grasp this concept, and continue to sell items for less than it costs to make. To these people I ask: Why craft in the first place? Go do something else.

So much for not allowing Legacy players to move to non Legacy.

Now i see why server transfers to non legacy were not allowed.

To keep economies stable like they are now.

Of course this puts a hole in the excuse SE was using to not allow these types of transfers.

    So now what SE?

    /sarcasm off

I guess due to that situation, it would then be called "the Great Depression of Erosea". :P
Great idea for ff14 lore and in game drama, great for adding more story content if SE was interested.
Great depressions can sometimes lead to wars but yea.

SE just added a very expensive housing feature to the game, so currently there are a lot more players actively trying to make some money (rather than just letting it accumulate at a natural but rather slow pace), and at the same time a lot more players trying to save money so they're less willing to spend it just to save a little time. A lot more sellers + a lot fewer buyers = prices on everything are going to plummet.

It's not likely to change until the interest in housing wanes. Maybe once most of the groups actively saving for a house have gotten it, then competition might wane enough to get a bit more profit again (or possibly not if some other real use for gil is added by then).

The main reason you could make so much profit before was because people had gil which they had no real use for, so they were willing to spend it for even the most minor of conveniences. What we have now is actually a more healthy economy, but it's one in which profit will be a bit harder to come by.
