Some people experience motion sickness when playing games. I know a few who do so this happens to people. For some people it is on specific games or in certain areas or how the camera rotates. Sometimes when switching cameras like that, if it isn't what you are used to, then your eyes are expecting something else to happen and then it doesn't. So it kind of confuses you.

It doesn't happen to a lot of people, but it does happen.

Or you could just learn to manually aim yourself at whatever you want to attack. You don't need 2 hands on the keyboard at all times.

But, whatever. Complain away, that's much more productive than using any of the readily available solutions.

The reason I didn't mention this is because this is a healer-forum, but since you mentioned it I might as well say a few words about this.
and I'm gonna compare ffxiv and WoW again, I don't care any of you trolls hate WOW or not.

The angle limitation to face a target in ffxiv is more strict than the angle limitation in WoW, so basically I have to face the enemy almost directly in order to attack, but in WoW as long as I face the enemy (it's almost 180 degree allowance, at least that's my experience)or should I say as long as the enemy is in front of me I can attack it.

It's much harder in ffxiv to face the enemy than in WOW, so I have to use auto facing function in ffxiv.

WoW doesn't have auto facing(unless mage fires arcane missiles), but it allows you to attack the enemy in a much wider angle, so I don't have to deal with auto facing issue in attacking or healing.

I kind of like it as it is tbh. A good habit I've picked up to deal with the issue your facing is simply to hop as I cast an instant whilst moving. Combine that with a slight turn via the mouse and whilst I get spun briefly as I jump, the mouse movement puts me straight back again and the hop stops me from running back into whatever I'm trying to get out of.

Another option, since this is only an issue for healing spells, is to leave the setting on and use /autofacetarget just with the healing spells. Haven't tested this, but something like:

    /autofacetarget off
/ac "Cure" <t> (or <tt> or <mo> or whatever your favorite is)
/wait (this may be optional. Not sure how this macro will react swapping settings rapidly while trying to cast.)
    /autofacetarget on

Probably fewer macros total than /ft with offensive spells if you have other jobs where you want to keep the setting active.

Or just use /autofacetarget to swap it on and off as needed instead of digging through the settings menu, if you're more comfortable with that.

This actually got me killed quite a few times before switching to legacy controls. Keeping an eye on the party list to watch everyone's HP, and another on my recast timers, and half an eye out for TP moves.. except when I did have to move out of TP move range I had no idea what direction I was facing, and by the time I got to move in the right direction it was already too late.

It's funny because the default camera actually makes me dizzy. Legacy camera is smoother and I don't have to stare at my avatars ass all day. (FFXI vet here of course)
