Possibly, but then again there probably aren't that many people left playing this game to begin with...

This is what we will see after 1.18
1) Patch 1.18 failed.. it is not enough like FFXI's dungeons too much like WoW
2) Patch 1.18 failed.. it is not casual enough
3) Patch 1.18 failed.. it is just too far off from mainstream (not enough like wow)
4) Patch 1.18 failed.. they promised us 3 expansions worth of content and only gave us half of one.
Each one with a page long rage quit post....
I can see it being a failure.. but I still have high hopes.. I dunno if I will quit because I really don't play anymore as it is. There are alot of other games coming out so it is just a matter of where I want to spend my time. I am hoping that this game pulls through. I have been a fan of Squaresoft for a long time. After Sakaguchi left, well it just doesn't feel the same anymore. So hopefully this game renews my respect for SE. Hoping..
I think Kilta_Firelotus is an internet handle for Hiromichi Tanaka. No can please a cynic. No matter how much was fixed it getting fixed or they adding ppl will complain. People are acting like ffxiv is a multi-user single player game. And not an mmo. SE hasn't done anything differ then what most company do with an mmo. MMo are always updated tweaked and added too. There is no "final straw" patch. Most people today do not "get itr" when it comes to mmo. They burn through content and play them like co-op single player games. MMo are not about getting everything done as fast as possible, it is about enjoying a game with others meeting people and doing w/e. MMo are about replayability not "beating the game" it is about enjoying the game OVER TIME.
If people rage quit, they never enjoyed the game and maybe have the expectation bar set to high. To me it isn't ffxiv that has the issue, its the players. What SE is doing now is something they will always be doing. They just choose to do these tweaks now vs later.
And be4 you say I do not know what I'm talking about I played 30 mmo

yeah it seems people wanted a fun game with stuff to do and content to enjoy. how dare they? how dare people expect a game to be fun? since when did people stop playing things if they didn't enjoy them?If people rage quit, they never enjoyed the game and maybe have the expectation bar set to high. yep. those were too high of expectations at this point.
i still play the game so i see some good in it, but remember we are in the very small minority so the problem may be with us since the majority think the game is bad.
may i ask with your mass knowledge of this game what content there is to burn through? if you say rushing a class to 50 i am going to laugh so hard since i know people that play maybe 2 hours a day with multiple 50's already.

XIV will sit on my hard drive unused until it's fixed or they can the project. Not much else to say.
I disappoint quit months ago. Now it's just a matter of whether I'm going to come back or not.
Depends how much they change, I am in the minority of keeping the current system and fixing the broken stuff. If they mess too much with what I do enjoy in the game, I'll likely move on.
Oh we all know some people will look for a reason for it to be considered bad. Though I'm sure some people will be legitimately upset because it wasn't exactly what they where thinking.
You can't please everyone because some people just don't want to be pleased.
If it blows, I'll play when I have time and nothing else to do.
If it's fun, I'll find time to play it, even moving around other free time activities. ^^
Either way, I'll stick around. The last thing this game needs is a sudden rush exodus of active people (read - Extended Beta Testers). I have all the faith in the world that this game will be amazing if we have confidence, and let them know there is still viable interest and a market for this game. If in the midst of a repair, everyone leaves, there's not much use patching up a game nobody seems to even be willing to play for free.
It's not killing us to play. And if it is, luckily, there's no legal obligations to play XIV, and you're very much welcome to try another game, and come back whenever or if ever you feel like trying XIV again.
As someone else said previously...
Can you really quit, if it's free?
