I think for random finder to place you in a dungeon at least 1 player needs to have selected to run that dungeon. You'll see low level dungeons because people farm them for equipment (some of it sells, but some of it is for looks). Most dungeons have a 3-4 level gap between them so a person might run it 3-5 times to earn their apropriate level. There are also some dungeons which are just harder than others / not needed for equipment to 'look cool' so people avoid those as well, again less likely to find yourself sent in to one with the random finder.

Now if you have 4 level 50's in a low-level finder dungeon one would *hope* it picks at random.

I'm still trying to figure out why whenever I look at the Roulette it's always says Tankns are in need and getting that special reward. I've only seen Healer there probably once sit 2.1's release

Because tanks are always in such short supply. I've actually noticed there appears to be more tanks in this game than in, say, WoW, but we can always use more

I wish it was Ifrit everytime, not sure why it matters, just que a higher dungeon if you want and let the roulette do its job and match you to players who wanted the dungeon and stop complaining about every damn thing the game does or doesnt dp.

I understand why we'd end up in Sastasha/Tam-Tara/Copperbell more often (since those 3 are probably in high demand), I understand why the dungeon roulette was done this way, and I even aprove of it.

But it's true that I, too, am getting tired of doing those 3 all the time. I've leveld my GLD (starting at 16) entirely through the roulette. I'm now at haukke level range. I haven't done anything higher than Halatali a *single* time, not even once. (even Halatali is rare) I'll be soon at Brayflox's level, and haven't even gotten to try out some of my abilities yet. Even when using another higher level job, I've never been put in anything higher than Halatali.

The way i feel that Duty Roulette works is it goes up the list from lowest to highest to see if there is one or more people queued since the first 3 dungeons in the game are the most queued dungeons you wind up getting those most of the time.

you know what's funny? by only having unlocked up to Haukke, you are actually part of the problem :P

50% of the dungeons you've unlocked are the starter dungeons, so you alone already have a 1:1 chance of getting one of them. now we take in the chance of being grouped with someone who is lower than you and that chance rises more and more

(though you seem to be extra unlucky, I have to admit that. even on my latest lowbie char where I haven't even unlocked Toto Rak yet I've already gotten Ifrit in DR twice )

I've gotten Ifrit 4 times, Halatali twice, and Titan once.

Im getting 190k+ on clear, and 1650 xp per kill in Halatali as a 44 DRG ... I'd say its well worth 25 minutes of my time to clear simple dungeons.

you know what's funny? by only having unlocked up to Haukke, you are actually part of the problem :P

They never said they've only unlocked up to Haukke Manor. They said the class they're leveling with Duty Finder is now UP TO Haukke Manor's level range, and heading towards Brayflox Manor.

I also tend to get shafted with one of the three starting dungeons. Highest I've seen so far has been Toto Rak, with my L48 White Mage. But, seeing as how Christmas just ended and there's a new influx of people thanks to gifts and the 50% off discount that SE ran, it's understandable.
