Sudden FPS Drop

I've played FFXIV since release at maximum graphics and had no issues whatsoever.

However 2 days ago my FPS suddenly dropped, i start the game and it runs at about 20fps for a few seconds then proceeds to slowly drop to 2fps and becomes unplayable.

I have restored settings to default, tried playing it on another hard drive all to no avail.

I can play crysis 3 on pretty high settings with decent FPS.

Any ideas?
