    High Frequence of Connection Spiking

I recently moved to Indianapolis and the only internet provider for cable in my area is Comcast. From the first time I logged on through them I have noticed an unusually high level of connection spiking. Each spike lasting 5-10 seconds and occurring around 1-2 times a minute. I can't seem to locate if this is a Comcast issue or something with the FF servers and or the route to them. My trace routes always come back clean and with low ping.

I have tried to use VPN tunneling services, PeerBlock to deny known P2P throttling servers, and forwarded every port I could find related to the game. Yet the same issue persists. The really odd thing was during Christmas eve evening and all Christmas day I did not encounter a single lag spike. I was able to actually play the game for a bit and I only assume this has to do with many people not using the Internet as they were out with family.

This doesn't help me locate if the issue is tied with the FF servers or Comcast again as both surely held a noticeable drop of constant connections on those days. However it does make me believe that one or the other is not able to support a high level of traffic coming from my area. Does anyone know of a way to determine which would be causing me the problem?
