WAR gear progression Help needed :)

    Hi all

Here looking for some advice on gearing a WAR. Currently the gear stands at the following with stats:

    Stat bonus: 30 in VIT

    Main: Bravura NQ
    Head: Mytho
    Body: Mytho
    Hands: Darklight
    Waist: Darklight
    Legs: Darklight
Feet: Darklight (Warrior of Light available but no legs available to equip without making stats worse)
    Neck: Darklight
    Earrings: Darklight
    Wrist: Darklight
    Ring: Allegan of Fending
    Ring: Darklight

Now I have enough Mytho at the moment to get my legs and equip my Warrior of Light feet however I am unsure if I should hold out till next week and get the Relic Zenith (+1) upgrade instead first.

Currently in turn 4 and holding hate is not much of a problem but yeah taking damage quite a bit.

Any advice on order of gearing acquisition would be immensely appreciated so I can bettering my group in progressing.

    Thanks!

VIT doesn't affect damage taken, and defense has a tiny, tiny effect. You aren't really going to see a big turn from gearing further in that category.

Anyway, I wouldn't be terribly inclined to put any myth tomes toward accessories until every other slot is filled. The benefit is pretty small. Move to ilvl70 melded Gryphonskin and replace only with ilvl90 Allagan drops. I would also wait on the weapon upgrade, since it's the smallest bonus for the largest cost (you've already got ilvl80 weapon while everything else is ilvl70).

Right now, you need to look at your accuracy needs. You don't get any accuracy from myth pants, so if you exchange your ilvl70 Darklight for ilvl80-90 myth/CT, you're dropping 30 accuracy (43 to 13). You can't afford that right now. Getting a Dual Haken is out of the question (extreme primals are supposedly harder than Twintania and certainly too much for most players), so you really have to gear to accuracy. To get 12 more accuracy, you can replace your DL earrings with melded Rose Gold Ear Screws or Rose Gold Ear Cuffs (former are slightly better due to +9 DEX, but latter are vastly cheaper to make). That means you still need to make up about 18 accuracy.
    1. You can temporarily replace your Allagan ring with melded ilvl70 and then take myth gloves to remain at cap with myth pants and CT boots. Cost: 1320 myth tomes, 1125 philo tomes, some gil. Benefit: +26 STR, +15 VIT
    2. You can invest in an ilvl90 Hero ring to temporarily replace the Allagan ring (can be kept for the long term) and grab myth legs. Cost: 1200 myth tomes, 0 philo tomes. Benefit: +11 STR, +14 VIT
    3. You can skip over those ilvl80 boots you're carrying and go straight to myth, which add +8 more accuracy and can be combined with myth hands and stuffed cabbage to remain at acc cap. Cost: 1815 myth tomes, 0 philo tomes. Benefit: +20 STR, +22 VIT

I personally would be most inclined to do the first as philo tomes are everywhere and you can use those accessories on other jobs as well as on farming content. The highest VIT-Tome efficiency is the third option, which also is better than the second in terms of STR. Kinda wasteful, though, and has a huge setup. The second has the added benefit of gearing you more for 2.2-level content (where that VIT might actually be needed), but it's not tome-efficient and has fairly small benefit in general.

get all your acc peices first chest hands feet then the ring if you wear peices with all acc you'll be at around 480 and with the myth belt over that by maybe seven.

btw you're taking a hit on acc with the mytho head if you can replace that with any peice that is a tad bit lower you should do it just for coil runs where your acc needs to be 480ish

And bracer is good too, but that's the last myth piece you should buy.
Allagan belt, legs, ear drop from turns 1 and 2, so don't buy those. Feet also drop from turn 1 but I don't like them because they lack acc. You already have the allagan ring, so that's good!

Allagan feet are good once you get the EX Primal/Allagan axe. AF+1 pants are better than the Allagan pants for WAR (determination vs crit rate), so it's actually fine to buy those but it's better to buy your AF+1 boots first (you'll lose 20+ acc from either purchase so it's best to buy your other acc gear before the boots or the pants). Allagan belt is also an accuracy loss (only 1 point against DL but still) rather than an accuracy gain with the Hero's version, so if you need the accuracy it's still best to go Hero's.

Anyway, go ring -> gloves -> boots -> pants, unless you can afford using the WoL boots instead but you'll be at a few points acc loss in the meantime. +1 Bravura should be the least of your concerns for awhile.
