What ever happened to player titles?

While I know that this isn't a priority, I just had to ask.

What happened to player titles?

Back in an early post, this was said to be apart of the early 2011 update set, and I can understand why it isn't in the game, but am still wondering if this is planned.

The idea that under a players name their title would be displayed allowing others to see and ask how they got a particular title.

My only request is to allow us to set our title once it has been unlocked.

This would be fine as well, I think it's the principle of the matter that titles don't even exist that is the problem.

I'm fine with that as well. I liked the idea of having them as achievements and allowing us to "equip" the title we want to display.

I'd rather titles working like skins. i'll toss a very raw example...lets say that beating 10k mobs will give you a title (since it does give you an achievement)...instead of displaying titles and stuff they could make when you equip that achievement you have the title displayed upon checking (like FFXI) and also having a skin for certain equipment slot or character characteristic, like adding a tattoo, a new scar, a new hairstyle...but that stay there only while the achievement is equipped.

IMO it would be very nice because you would also have a visual achievement marker...like if you see someone using chocobo cap skin you know he completed the chocobo quest =P

Checked in with Yoshida to get try and get some hints on the future implementation of player titles. One aspect of the titles that we are able to reveal is the fact that they are planning to tie titles to the upcoming achievement system.
