What I Learned from Goldilocks

I got all excited about player housing. For real. I started to level a job so I could contribute gil so my FC could pick up a house, which they will do no matter my sentiments on this post. Then I went to the La Noscea housing district where a few rich folk have setup camp. I went into their house and slept in their beds and ate their porridge. I warmed my feet by their Ifrit-fueled fireplaces. I used their bathrooms and didn't clean up after myself.

And after all of this, I had but one question: How's an FC going to fit into this?

Then I had more:

If I can mosey on into someone's abode, why bother having my own? So I can choose where I will stick my Garuda couch? Meh.

Then more:

The castles and towers throughout the land look so much better than the (current) housing options. Why don't I just take over one of them? What are the people going to do, stop me? Please. I killed the most hideous of monsters in the land. I'm not afraid of a few unawares NPCs.

So, I guess what I have determined is I will just take over your houses and eat your food, and I will claim all of Limsa as my own. Mine. Mine, mine, mine. It has oceans, aethers, conveniently located by the housing district--in fact more convenient because I can port there whenever.

I will spend my gil on something else, like. . .well, there is nothing else. Okay, fine, I'll buy a house, but only because I want to be a real estate mogul.

I tried to claim the small lighthouse in the Mist as mine, but was thwarted by the lack of pathing to that area. :-(

I wanted Haukke Manor as an FC house, especially after we kicked out all the beasties and ghoulies. Yeah, it's a fixer-upper, but it would have been awesome. Big yard, too.
