How is Summoner parsing?

If its false i find it odd that the many summoners i spoken too and my tests show more pet dps since after 2.1.the attacks go faster

Summonors do so much damage it's crazy, at first looking at parses from bosses I thought they were mediocre then realized I wasn't even adding the pet! The only issues they might have is breaking people out of Gaols/killing adds/nails quickly, I am not sure what the go to for that situation is and seems to be their weak point.

They're still parsing in the same way for my static group, it's just not as exaggerated as before. SMN is the lowest dps on his own by 3-5 dps, and then he becomes the best by 10-15 DPS once you add in the pet. Before the change, they would be top by 25-35 dps.

Did somebody fix the parser? Because I thought that "the forums" all decided ages ago that the parser was complete poo for sorting out SMN DPS because it would assign the Fester damage to the entire DoT (or some nonsense like that). Not sure myself as I've never used the parsers (just depended on you kind folk for your input).

No parsers still don't record correctly (for all jobs) but people require them to make themselves feel better, so they keep reading them as 100% accurate when a lot of dot damage doesn't get recorded correctly, Shadow Flare doesn't register properly. Parsers are garbage still, but people need their epeen stroked.

Summoner dps is ridiculous. Trust yoshi when he says SMN's dps is still one of the best. Don't rely on parsers to measure SMN's dps. We were doing titan ex and one dps had to leave, we replaced him with a SMN and the difference was clearly noticeable. The heart was dying right after LS before the SMN was there. Once we had the SMN, the heart was dying b4 or while titan was placing the circular bombs.

If you experience issues with not killing all the nails in ifrit in the last phase, have a SMN dot all the nails possible and dps problem will be resolved. My FC tank told me he downed ifrit in a df party where two SMN's has all white accessories.

Parsers are mostly fine. Results are the most erroneous on SMNs because they tend to not deal with Contagion or Shadow Flare. However, missing ~15% of a Summoner's DPS is easily accounted for. The SMN in your group parsing for 100 dps with a 55 dps pet is still sucking, no matter how much error you make-believe the parsers have.


Edit: For nails, Summoners should be tab-DoTing starting like 4 nails ahead or so. Only put 1 DoT on each, highest potency in the lowest duration. Set pet to nuke whatever the DPS train is on.
