Exactly. We want something new/different, and yet at the same time, no one wants to sacrifice the awesome efficiency that BW offers. So we end up being bored, but hey we're ranking up fast! lol, poor design imo

LOL! So true.
The game is so visually stunning yet we don't get a change to experience that.
My other issue is that there aren't any Rank 50 camps open for leves. I understand why, being that they are re-working the battle system, but that only puts us at Camp BW for another 7 more Ranks.
Leves have so much potential, really they do. I believe we haven't even tapped into their true nature and it will be another year before we really see what they can do.

Yeah it seems odd if you follow FFXIV trend of unlocking the next set of leve camps at "Rx3"
By that logic they should have opened areas like Sandgate when we hit R43. But instead they are a PITA to get to and the only reward for making it there is that you can now warp to it whenever you want lol
Right! I just hit Rank 43 on my Con, and it kind of feels like your 23rd birthday, nothing really exciting is going to happen.Yeah it seems odd if you follow FFXIV trend of unlocking the next set of leve camps at "Rx3"

However, if a new camp and leves opened up that would mean I get to travel a little bit more.
Iron Lake, Crimson Bark, and Blue Fog I feel should open at 43 with new leves, perhaps they will sometime this summer. One can hope.

LOL that scored me some dirty looks at work. I totally remember my 23rd birthday being like that. The only thing you can look forward to now on your CON is to turn to your buddies and go "well... we could try 3 star difficulty instead of 2 now"
I know... not that exciting. I hope we will hear more on their plans to balance this system soon.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ev1001-Dev1011 is an excellent post.
After reading about the leve arc, I posted the following:
Something like this would really open the game up and give a reason to complete as it would open up new levesStory/camp arcs would really open up leves. A simple adjustment to allow you to carry more then eight leves would be enough. (Meaning that you can pick up 8 from the counters, but by doing well and completing the leve you would open up new leves that are only available by completing the previous leve.
Just like in your example, you get tier 2 after completing tier 1, but you couldn't pick up T2, 3, etc unless you got it for completing the previous tier.
Thus you could get more then 8 leves, by completing the previous leves and doing well on them.![]()
