Average item Lv Formula?

Anyone knows the item Level formula? Not even my SMN or SCH items Avg item level match my current gear. The item level of my characters are like 2 below of what they should be. So it seems is not a simple as adding all items level and dividing them for the number of slots.

Not sure. On my warrior it matches, but instead of rounding up it just drops the decimal. So I have 81.67 but it shows as 81. I don't know what would account for a difference of 2.

Are you using Darklight Cowls? You have to count those as two slots. And as two ilvl 70 items.

Im a summoner. No Shields and Im using a Crimson Circlet, soo no Cowl. Lets see 12 Slots Total.
Crimson Lv80
Darklight Tome 55
Vanya Robe 70
Darklights x 7
Austere tights 60
Demagogue Ring 60
Total 815 / 12 = 67.9
Game says item Avg Lv 66

Total = 820 / 12 = 68.3

It's not total of all equipment / number of equipment, rounded up?

Because that's what it seems to be.
