I've got a sword that's Untradable, so I can't vendor it. It also doesn't give me an Convert option. Is there anything to do with it besides throw it away?

You can trade it for seals by talking to your GC provisions guy, its under the expert supply tab.
At what rank does that become available? (I just know that as Sergeant Third Class, I don't have access to the expert ones yet. It's a little odd - at reaching Sgt 3rd class, the NPC dialog said that meant I'd now be eligible for more supply missions, but they aren't actually available yet.)
I believe that Expert Delivery is unlocked at Sergeant 2nd Class. It's been a while, though.
Also, it depends on precisely WHAT sword it is. Trading it in for seals only works for green items (and pink, but those are also convertible). Other untradeable items, such as relic weapons or seasonal event rewards you may not want to just discard lightly.
OK, so what about my job quest reward blue items? They're PLD only, so no other class can use them. GC won't take them. Anything else to do with them?
If you are talking about your job armor you have put it in the chest in your inn room. Just has to be repaired.
You can also store them with a retainer. You'll find a desk around the shopping districts in each town where you can "hire" your first retainer persona.
I guess I don't understand what the point is. Is there some reason I might want them later?
In case someone decides to make story quests require them when/if level cap gets increased.
