EM is EXACTLY like HM. All his moves are scripted. He'll never do anything unexpectedly. Memorize his pattern, and you can anticipate plumes if that's what's killing you. If you know when he's going to use plumes, there is no excuse for getting hit. All other moves/phases/egis everything is scripted, there is no element of surprise.
except for row bombs. even though you know they're coming, sometimes they come at a crazy angle and your raid can't (or doesn't) bait the landslide the right way.
