Just because some of us happen to be lucky and don't experience any connection trouble during this fight doesn't guarantee that the fight is well-designed. The situation that many people who face difficulties with this battle while having close to NONE issues dealing with other fight implies that something is wrong with the battle itself.

This isn't a test of skills anymore. It's a test of connection and your distance between the server, and that is not a wise way to increase the difficulty of a MMO.

This is an online game. Ofc your connection matters. On some encounters more than others. If you have a bad connection you will be having troubles. No matter if you have to dodge AoE or playing healer and can't cure in time because the dmg registered too late on your machine.

*edit* Don't get me wrong its sucks that some people have connection issues and that square won't have real data centers in europe to at least bring server clusters closer to some players locations.

I love that there is a boss in this game people whine about.

Titan ex is one of the best fights and I really hope there is another wall just like him in future coil turns.

Hes honestly a easy fight with some practice.

4 things you should look into if your dieing in titan ex

1, you have bad latency this will effect you in future fights like twintania so fix it

2, you need practice, stop complaining and practice

3, you need a static or a better one

4, your just really bad

oh and just because your dieing does no mean your a good player with a bad connection, from what ive seen its just bad players with good connections
ive downed titan ex numerous times with many different groups. It's kinda werid that like the 40-50 odd individuals were able to learn the fight and beat and "you" (you know who you are) struggle so much.
And please god do not join a FC and expect them to take you on a run and carry you. Learn the fight to the point where you laugh when people get hit, and your friends are like "oh shit you got hit that never happens haha fluke, wipe it"
And just because you do good up until heart phase does not mean you know the fight, thats the easy shit, please be able to not get hit by the t/x pattern bombs, avoid every landslide, etc

My group one shots all 3 EM primals but we still know Titan is a mess compared to the others, why can't Titan's abilities work like Eruptions on Ifrit? Ifrit EM eruptions are ACTUALLY realistically displayed on the screen, if you are out of them you do not get hit.. but you can't say the same about Titan

Sure you can. Especially after they increased the server position check intervals. If you got hit even though you were out of the plumes on your screen two things could have happened.
1. Your connection lagged behind
2. The sever had a hiccup.
But this is possible in all scenarios. Titan doesn't have exclusive rights to connection problems.

While I agree it's a bitch and harder to complete than other fights, it's not only because of the connection and it is beatable without insane lag too. Everything scritped to death, plumes which are the biggest issue with latency (slides are slower hence easier to dodge, same for bombs, plus if you constantly play with latency you learn to work around your delay, hence moving earlier even if the shit explodes in your face).

It is an interesting change, it's not hard nor impossible, I play with relatively high latency (last week ive been at aprox 220ms pings) and yes sometimes I eat a skill if I'm being part sloppy, even if I am out of the spell when it hit for a while already. However you can learn to work around it, and yes, it sucks big time having to do more than what you're supposed to in order to make it through.

That people whine and cry doesn't mean the fight is unfair, it's completely doable, you just need 6 competent people and 2 that can be half skilled. You can recover, from multiple deaths too, but of course it gets harder the more mistakes you make. It's not any harder than any of the other primals, difference is here more spells one shot you if you fail to dodge em. Just learn the patterns.

Either way, I want to remember you all it is just ONE fight in the game, all the other encounters work differently, if you don't like it, then avoid it as much as you can and do it only when necessary.

The patch notes are WAY too vague to know what those applied to:

The frequency with which player position is updated during trials and PvP has been increased.
* Server stress will be closely monitored before these adjustments are applied to other duties.

So you can't really say they were even applied to Titan

Lol, while you're 100% right. I'm pretty sure this fight would have been unbeatable pre-patch lol! (or close to it)

While it didn't magically solve everything, it did help a lot IMO. It's still random and you're still subject to server delays and shitty latency, but it is a tiny bit better (not the real solution to the problem though, just a patch).

Lol, feels unreal. People run around everywhere, circle bombs are a joke... like... It's hard to tell you're past the heart since the arena is as big as P2 of Extreme Mode... LOL

Hi guys, Has SE commented on the lag spikes since 2.1? I fortunately haven't had the displeasure of ever seeing these lag spikes until 2.1 and it is honestly a roadblock for me and Titan EX.... I'm to the point where it is a real challenge for me to even do Titan HM w/o dying to a 3-5 sec lag spike that causes me to get hit by multiple plumes.... It is getting really annoying and I am pretty sure it isn't my ISP. Please advise. Thanks in advance!

There is a thread about verizon fios users having insane rubberbanding/lag spikes after 2.1 and someone proved it was an ISP issue with some net testing that is beyond my own understanding or skill set.
