Titan Extreme is NOT Fun

all xmodes suck imo not fun at all, I don't have the time to spend wiping over df groups for weeks on end, SE needs to make the game were this is content that the player can get and enjoy and not just instance based player ego's

No groups for xmode or hards = no play
No one doing fates = no fates since 2.1
the game is too dependent on others as it should be to a point but not all content.
I like puzzles and stuff but god not all the content has to be a huge puzzle that 7 others have to be on your skill lvl or its a fail over and over and over...

Before you flame me over party finder, I spent 4 hours making groups nada, I search for groups they require lvl 85 min..
The way these are designed make it very hard for a player friendly game imo

Actually, dependent on others is a good thing in mmos. The problem is they over did it.

If TitanX ring size is the same as HM and the bomb radius is the same as HM, that would be great.

yeah I guess your right its just tough to actually get exp groups all the time and I am starting a job soon so I wont have but maybe 2 hours per day to play and I can not spend that all on wiping, That would be no fun at all and im getting old too I mean it sucks

Df titan for a week and tell me how fun it is

I've been DFing Titan HM since November. It's incredibly fun to carry people through it on a healer. All you need is one competent DPS.

I actually do a lot of Titan HM through PF. Very satisfying helping people.

Most groups I have df'ed with have trouble surviving to the heart phase and even when they make it they can't burn it down. Once in awhile we get to phase 5 and like half the party or more dies right off the bat. I can keep the tank alive till Titan rocks me though. Maybe it's different now than back then but I doubt it. Player finder is a bit different because you can set your own criteria and often players are doing it for other jobs that need relics. Not truly a group of randoms from my experience.

It is much different after the patch as far as DF goes. Having the DPS with the minimum gear assures the heart will go down (almost). Can always pop into cleric to push it over. I don't think many groups I've been in post patch have had to use the LB to down it.

Before the patch, I had maybe 4~5 DF wins in 110+ so there was definitely something wrong. Post patch, I seem to win 7 in 10 I'd say? Maybe a little lower. Haven't failed with a PF group yet, at least. Maybe a few wipes before everyone knows what's going on or I find another DPS that is helping out to break me out of gaols.

As far as the rest of you are concerned...I feel the need to keep repeating this until you understand the word:

5.exceeding the bounds of moderation: extreme fashions.

That's exactly what the word implies.

Most of you will never complete it. And you know what? That's fine. It isn't meant to be fun. It isn't meant to be a walk in the park where you are handed a free relic+1 at the end. It's optional content. It's content, much like Twintania, where you throw yourself at it for hours until you eventually get it right: gaining immense satisfaction after downing something that can be frustrating/that you've spent many real life hours on and possibly rewarding you with some loot.

Don't like memorizing patterns? Can't deal with the lag that many others deal with? Can't handle the fact that you must bring your best or you will fail? Titan is not for you.

If 14 consisted of only these types of fights, then you might have a reason to whine. However, you can do many other things in this game without having to bash your head against Titan's wall for hours. There is much more content that is 'friendly' than there are extreme fights like Titan Ex and Twintania. Go find that content and enjoy the game.

I don't feel like casual players or hardcore players are getting specifically catered to, but rather there are some issues with this.

a.) Anything a casual player can access, a hardcore player can access as well.
I think is pretty straight forward and obvious. By definition, hardcore players simply have more content available to them.

b.) If it's too easy, it's probably not fun.
This is where things get difficult to gauge. Content for a hardcore player is only difficult while it is in progression. Once a hardcore player has completed the content multiple times and is just doing it for loot, it loses some of its charm(at least in my opinion). Assuming a hardcore player completes all of the content in a given patch - the hardcore player is ALWAYS left with no remaining content. Honestly I haven't done a single daily quest for the beastman tribes because I'm not too interested in the rewards, and I don't expect to be challenged.

c.) If it's too hard, it's probably not fun.
This is pretty true as well, or else this thread wouldn't even exist. For a casual player who can't complete all the content, there is always more content to be cleared. However, the player might not enjoy forcing themselves to clear it due to its difficulty. For this reason, often old "progression content" gets toned down with every patch to allow more players to clear it.

Note : Difficulty can stem from a number of places. Whether it be reaction time, gear, finding a proper group, learning an encounter, etc etc etc....

However, this creates a bit of a cycle where... a small amount of content is added for the hardcore players and a small amount of old "hand me down" content gets passed on to the casual player. I don't think the average casual player will be terribly excited to down Extreme Titan when he gets nerfed in 6 months. Already, most hardcore player can clear all the content without much issue.

In all honesty I feel like both sides of the fence are hurt for content, not because SE is favoring casuals or favoring hardcore players, but just because FFXIV is a new MMO.

Personally I derive my enjoyment from the people I talk to and play with in the game.

Can we please stop using DF as a valid source of clearing fights that need coordination? Yes parties happen in Duty finder where you clear those fights but relying on people who generally expect a one shot and leave if they don't get it after one round. Or even before that when somebody says "Sorry guys I'm new to the fight". Duty Finder is in most cases used to get some practice before joining local parties.
Like others have stated people wanted something challenging and not so "casual" friendly. They got the extreme battles. (Not going to argue the individual difficulty per person) but chances are if you guys can't beat it (Having problems to dodge etc) those fights are not for you. If you feel like you should be able to beat it but are held back by others. Join those "screw up once and kick parties". Those are mostly not one-shots either but "bad"(please don't nail me on this word) players are replaced at much quicker rate.

Is it frustrating wiping on Titan X amount of times because people can't dodge consistently? Of course it is and this is where I agree the no "fun" can be applied.
Should the fight be changed? No. There are enough people beating it and on a personal node I wish these fights would be harder (random rotations anyone?).
There is content in this game that is not fun for everybody. I don't think crafting is fun in this game but I'm not running around telling everyone and their mother that crafting should be changed just because it doesn't appeal to me.
