Titan Extreme is NOT Fun

If time of day has an effect on chances of success then your game is broken. FFXIV is broken... the lag issues need to get fixed. I am willing to give it more time but at some point I just wont be able to take it anymore. My guess is many others have had it at this point.

I cleared Titan EX with a guy on a laptop with a wireless connection from Taiwan. He was lagging horrifically and died every two pulls or so. He still put out 260 dps over the full fight and survived for most of it after compensating for the lag.

Much excuses in this thread.

There's lag in every single online game, don't tell me there isn't one that doesn't because if you say there is, you're dreaming. Again this isn't JUST ffxiv. People are just fustrated from this fight and it can be understandable to an extent, however it is beatable by people who have lag or similar issues. Unless your lag is so bad that you can see people warping or something similar from your screen, you should be able to beat titan ex.

It is understandable if you don't find it fun or think it's a "cheap" difficulty or whatever. But understand blaming lag even if it were true doesn't change anything and certainly saying how this is an ffxiv problem only is baloney.

Dunno where the complains come from. Titan EX is pretty similiar to Titan HM. In theory if you beaten Titan HM you shouldn't have much of a problem with Titan EX. Only different rotation and some new patterns. (+ adds). Personally out of the 3 extreme primal fights I find Titan to be the easiest one. Sure there are the occasional lagspikes and some other shenanigans but from a pure mechanics standpoint this fight is easy.

Yes, let's nerf the only semi-difficult content in the game so everyone can do it. Because, you know, 2.1 had nothing for casual players.

If Titan extreme isn't "fun" for you, you probably just suck. It's 10x more involved than Garuda and Ifrit XM, which for me = fun.

So is Turn 4 but its just a different kind of involved. Don't get me wrong, I've come to love titan ex. It took a while of me sucking, then not sucking, then being with people who also didn't suck, but I've grown to love it. Its like an old, crabby neighbor that lives next door. At first, all you want to do is slash his tires. But after a while, you look forward to his morning complaints and bad breath. It gives you a sense of comfort.

That being said, I could also love new neighbors that require strategy and not learning a script.

Sad how you don't make the time to read anything in the post regarding my experience. Just assume I suck because I made a thread ranting on terrible design. Most ignorant thing I've read thus far. Truth be told I clear this far more than you even do, so don't go throwing around the suck card because your mad someone insulted your titan.

I read your first post.

This game heavily relies on Instant Kill Mechanics to make content difficult. Constant dodging is not only trivial, but frustrating when if you screw up one time your done.

Getting hit by landslide in Titan EX (or Titan HM) means you are terrible. Period. It is hands down the easiest mechanic in the encounter to avoid. And plumes are the second easiest thing to dodge in Titan. One shot mechanics are more fun because the stakes are higher and ::gasp:: you actually have to play the game right to win! You want encounters to go the direction of Ifrit EX, where people can continually fail mechanics and there is all the time in the world for resurrections and mana songs to recover.

That isn't fun. That's boring as hell.

When I read post like this, I am reminded of why we can't get really good things.

after all the people not having issues with these 3 fights are done. 8-10 weeks. they will turn it down. So the rest can get it.

I enjoy Titan EX, it really isn't hard, only more memorizing patterns. What is not fun is watching people die to first set of plumes, or unable to dodge anything because of one excuse or another. Half the time I see people get hit by circle bombs, because its somehow hard to see the first bomb drop, and run to it after it explodes. People need to stop making excuses and get better at mechanics, you'll find the fight is a lot more "fun" then you thought.

My comment isn't directed at people with unfixable internet issues, but these people should realize their limitations and not blame the game mechanics which make for a good/dynamic boss fight.
