People want a challenge mode - "happy medium" no longer exists due to the current generation because the playerbase that will make a company the most money will almost always consider something "too hard, nerf it" if it can't be done within 10 minutes or with minimal work.
That's why F2P, B2P, Freemium and DLC does so well these days.

Nothing will ever satisfy everyone. But even within "hard" or "easy", you can make variations.

Again, binaries. People are continuous, not binaries.
I believe the problem with Titan, outside of the lag issues that are running rampant right now, is that your teammates become hazards due to Weight. In contrast to Ultima's Weights which are set. However, Plumes/Eruptions in Ultima cause your teammates to become hazards once again. Frankly, I'm of the belief that your teammate should never, ever be a hazard. I believe it is completely antithetical to an MMO to have a teammate, due to a certain mechanic, be the reason another teammate dies. It encourages some really uncooperative play.
Here's a great example:
What about this comment says, "We're playing an MMO. Let's all play together, challenge ourselves, but ultimately come through it because we were a team"? To me, it says, "You suck. I'm better. Don't be bad."

titan is the only fight where my chances of living are dependent on something that I don't control. I don't like titan very much. the first boss in WP seems to have tons of delay issues too but nothing he does is lethal.

Oh please, don't compare a fun boss as first one from WP than a big encounter like titan extreme.
Admit it, or you play with bad players or you are a bad player.
Other option is that you are playing using a toaster as a computer.
