good luck crafting all those HQs - takes a good amount of time to make them all HQ since you can't quicksynth.
good luck with all the shards, 900 HQ items is a ton of shards.

This.
Armorsmith 45 is 3/3 Cobalt. 5 shards per cobalt in addition to the 2:1 Cobalt and Iron.
HQ them all, 900 to clean out your Leve Points.
4500 shards,
1800 Cobalt,
900 Iron
HQ them all you could make around 2 mill a month.
Have fun with that.
single item turn ins were double for base exp so you actually get more exp than you did before. triple turn ins were nerfed making them less viable. did the math on the highest xp ones, you can turn in 1 of those for 214k at lvl45-50, versus 230k or something like that for triple hq turn ins. single item turn ins that require you to travel are going to net you the best xp/cost everytime. triples are pretty much worthless in my book

But for gil, triple turn-ins are always better, though they require a whole lot more shards to complete (9x instead of 1x)

Triple turn ins use far less leves. The fact that they also give the most exp is just a bonus. It means you'll actually have to craft a lot but I find I gain at least 1.5 levels cafting all the mats and items needed to complete the leves. That means I only need 3 or so levels from the leves themselves before I can move onto higher level leves. I just make a few extra turn in items and sell them on the MB to cover costs and make a little profit.
At higher levels you get 10k+ exp per synth, that's super cheap and fast if you have to make ingots or something.
If you're trying to get the most out of each leve, it seems the triple turn ins are still the best.
If you're trying to level as fast and cheap as possible, it seems the single turn ins are still the best.
Quick Synth now gives the same XP as making the item with zero quality yourself. When I don't actually have time to play I'll just QS a pile of leather, or lanolin, or potions, or any one step synth that I can just blow some leves on with absolute minimal effort.

Why are people still trying to do Triple-turn in leves. The leves were you have to travel give great xp, you only have to HQ 1 item. For example, from level 35-40 culinarian, I used Knight's Bread. I got 129k xp and 650-800 gil per turn in. Using Favorite location for travel, I was still able to turn a profit, and only had to do like 10 turn ins. Those 10 items, netted me 1.29 million exp.
Edit:
Quick comparison -
35 Triple Turn
Coerthas (Observatorium) - Leek Soup for the Soul (23940 XP)
Requires: 3 Cawl Cennin (4 Fire Shard, 3 Water Shard, 1 Mineral Water, 1 Wild Onion, 1 Salt Leek, 1 Sweet Cream, 1 Smooth Butter, 1 Chicken Stock)
That cost 36 fire shards and 27 water shards for 143640k xp...
vs.
35 Travel turn in
Limsa Lominsa - No More Dumpster Diving (64792 XP)
Requires: 1 Knight's Bread (4 Fire Shard, 4 Water Shard, 1 Mineral Water, 1 Chicken Egg, 1 Rye Flour, 1 Midland Basil, 1 Honey)
That cost 4 fire and 4 water for 129584 xp ....
Triple Turn in leve cost to much now for the xp they give, and even though they can net more gil... they still are near break even when you consider all the mats you have to give up.

If you want quick xp for a battle class, escort leves (the ones that make you /beckon) are great. Make sure to do ones that are level appropriate (like Costa del Sol at 30, Wineport at 35, etc) and max out their difficulty. Put the /beckon command on a bar and continue to use it as you walk towards the destination. You can ignore the mobs on the way, just keep pulling the escort NPC to the area to finish.
With the leve in Costa del Sol you can finish it in approximately a minute and gain about 11,500 xp. This is just as good as FATEs in the area. The level 35 ones jump up to about 14,000 xp. You can do about 4 of these in a row before you have to do another leve (possibly 2) to refresh the leve list and rinse and repeat.
Leves are of course a limited resource, but if you're trying to level up a class, this is something you can do in between solo DF queues, or just something to do when you have nothing better to do. You can of course group up with other people and all do it together if you choose.

Triple Leves are the most effective in terms of exp/leve. They were in 2.0, and they are still in 2.1. If you are looking at it in terms of materials cost, they were never efficient. In terms of LEVE ALLOWANCES, they are the most efficient. Why are people still trying to do Triple-turn in leves. The leves were you have to travel give great xp, you only have to HQ 1 item. It is only a question of which you value more. Spending 10 leves for your exp, or spending 3 leves, making (generally) 9 items per leve (with a corresponding increase in exp per allowance) for your exp.
Most people serious about their crafting are gatherers as well. While leveling, they generally consider several resources : time, leves, gil, materials. The relative value of these is up to the individual, however. Crafters who gather everything (including shards) do not regard time as highly as they do the rest, and are more likely to prefer the triple leves. Those who value time the most, gather what they need and buy the rest, may prefer triple leves or they may prefer delivery leves. It may come down to how many leves are available; it may be that triple leves are preferred when under 20 leves left, and deliveries when over 40. It is all dependent upon the individual crafter, and there is no right or wrong answer to which is better, triple leves or delivery leves.

In 2.1, triple leves are only slightly more effective than singles items. With single item leves and over a 5 lvl tiers, you'd spend only 2 leves allowance more than using triple leves. However, it's so much faster that it's really worth it.
I recently helped a FC member lvl BSM to 50 using single leves quest and we did it in less than 10 hours (within a day) using about 50-60 allowance.
