Enrage strategy is fairly boring. Takes so much longer than not using it and doing it the regular way.

That said, I really don't see the problem in it. It's an easy turn, either way. Passing the Rot, dodging AoEs and tank swapping isn't exactly the height of difficult mechanics in this game. I think it's a comparison of something that is easier to something else that is a bit less easy. Big deal. On top of that, it's actually something that is easier to pass without communication; contrary to your argument that means it's easier to pug your way through turn 2 using the Enrage strat.

The class imbalance argument is also weak. I believe a lot of people who've been playing since release are well-geared enough to do the first 3 turns of Coil on more than one role, being able to slip into 2 or all 3 roles there.
