Take them out then.

Take them out then.
hmmm actually it sounds like those new NMs may have existed a long time ago, back when they plans for beastcoins, but they just added it recently.
like mog says, if they have no plans for them, they should take them out the game.

He didn't say they have no plans for them. Go back and read it...they are "uncertain" and "it's up to you if you want to hold onto them or sell them". That's the whole point of the coins. What's wrong with a little uncertainty in life?

Put them in when they do have plans.
Until then. They are less than useless, taking up inventory.

So throw them out, free up your inventory and don't have any worries. Just grind em back when you decide what you need later.

I think its a case of:
If we knew they had a purpose, we'd batch stock them making it come the day of content that used them we'd have a bunch to use, think of it as like not having BCNM but knowing its coming, so you've collected up 10 stacks of seals. (And imagine they were sellable).
So they just don't want to give us that choice and saying it is up to us, very stupid reply though if you ask me. Might as well say the same thing about the game as a whole.

O_o.. That's pretty bad when even the Dev team doesn't know what to do with them.. I wonder... maybe they just sit around making random items with no use? Then why put it in game??

Its more of a case like this:
SE puts an item in the game.
Players collect said items for their future use, taking up 5-10 slots of inventory for 6-8 months.
Players ask what they will be used for.
SE says eh, maybe we will use them someday.
Players holding on to them (or god forbid had been BUYING them) are now out 8 months worth of 10 precious inventory slots and untold amounts of gil. With NO idea of when/where their time, inventory and gil investment will pay off (if at all)
THATS why its a pain.
A LS member has been buying and farming them for MONTHS in preparation for content. What a slap in the face to him.

welp change of teams, change of plans, thats all it boils down to i suppose. but they should take them out now that they are unsure if they have the desire to use them
Dude, tell the devs they ought to give the Beastcoins a purpose in acquiring Beastmen-specific resources. Like, say, components for armor. The storyline we see going on in the game is on a slant towards a possible City-State/Beastman alliance, so why not start with a trade alliance for players to take advantage of?
Things I could see being made possible would be the acquisition of rare metals and other resources, as well as refined materials that only one of each Beastman tribe can create.
Like, say...since the Ixali's patron is Garuda, that signifies wind. They could produce blades that have a highly imbued wind damage element to them that can only be bought with Beastcoins.
Honestly! I'm tired of hearing so much about aspects of the game where the developers have absolutely no clue as to their purpose. It's as if they just tossed it in on a whim! Rukkirii, pass this on to Tanaka, please: "If it has no purpose, DO NOT IMPLEMENT IT. It is absurd to be implementing something that has no purpose, just for the sake of fluff. That's a waste of man-hours that would have been better spent working on more tangible aspects of the game. No wonder you got demoted, old man!"
