Do you guys get commended a lot?

I get almost no comms per dungeon, but maybe that's because I can be a huge asshole if you're bad, lol. If you're not kissing up to get comms as a DPS, then PVP. Top damage usually gets you at least 1 comm. :P

I've only gotten one so far, and i think it was because a player mentioned my character name was the same as an ex of his. Odd reason, but i'll take it.

While I admit it is more difficult for most to notice a good dps player, I find that the problem is less with what role you play and with commendations in general.

In my experience many players tend to not stick around long enough to bother getting or receiving commendations and then if you ask people to please do commendations before leaving, not even asking for them yourself but to do them in general, they call you a "whore" and don't do it anyway.

Myself I try to give commendations out every run to whoever I felt did a good job or was mvp to me. However it usually ends up going to the only person who stuck around long enough to be able to get a commendation.

Maybe I'm a sucker, but I believe in players helping other players and providing them with support, which is what the commendation system is to me, letting other players know you appreciate them.

I give commendations to dps quite a lot. I know that tanks and healers more than likely get the majority. So I judge dps during the run. If they're able to dodge attacks that they're supposed to and require very little heals or raises, then I'll give my vote to the best dps. Being a healer, if I'm under attack and a tank isn't worried about getting the enemy off of me, but I see a dps attacking it, doing their best to pull it off or kill it that also means quite a bit to me. ^^b

In crystal tower, if we are constantly finishing our enemies before the other groups are I know our dps is doing excellent. There are plenty of things I go by. I do watch out for you all as well. So do your best out there. You may be paired with me one day.

I have two characters—both DPS—and my female character has twice as many commendations as my male. Maybe that's just a coincidence haha, but I kind of doubt it. My DRG has 7, BLM has 14. I act the same regardless of which character I play, but I definitely notice people are friendlier to me when they assume I'm female (which I am). I feel bad for my guy, he gets no love. ;o;

I always commend, though. I will favor DPS out of sympathy, but I commend based on how nice/funny/skilled people are so it works out to be pretty even.

ive got 43 for DRG dps. Why? probably because it's awesome DPS.

I also miss no chance to explain a fight and/or give friendly tips.

I have only got 5 so far...it is rough. I do everything I can but no one either cares or notices. Most times players just leave and do not vote for anyone. I kept a new tank topped off on MP because he was blowing through it and helped out with the dungeon, don't know what else to do. I will not whore myself out to fish for comm's though even though I want that guilded magitec armor...LOL

Well u can try the cheap method of farming commendations and cheat the system with "half premade" like some lazy peeps i knew. BTW that gilded magitek colour is SO DULL
