That can just as easily work in reverse. Players who have multiple options and actually want to clear the content will play the class that has the most influence on the team's success.

If bad players truly shy away from difficult roles and would rather wait an hour for two tanks to show up, they got what they deserve. Anyway, I don't think switching to Triangle method Garuda is going to change this. JP servers do it this way, and guess what? Nobody wants to tank there either!

In the original post you put Holmgang used to prevent knockback and now it does not, this is the opposite. It once did nothing for knockback, as of now it stops you from being knocked back.

    In 2.0, Holmgang prevented knockback.

In 2.1, it stopped preventing knockback.

Then sometime since then, they fixed it so it prevents knockback again. I wrote the OP before this happened, and just updated it. Thank you for pointing it out!

    Hi all,

I have a quick tanking question on Titan EX adds.
So currently, I pick up the adds, tank them at 3 o'clock on + bomb, wait for LS and move to 4-5 o'clock on X bomb and from there, I'm not very clean.

I'd often have one add died at 3 o'clock which prevents me to go back there to avoid the explosion from the X bomb. So I tend to move again at 6 o'clock (where the rest of the party is) to avoid the blast but that make the remaining gaoler to target the single LS towards the group which kinda sucks. Idealy, both should be dead by that time but it's not always the case unfortunately. Of course, if the 3 o'clock position is clear, I'd go there for safety.
I don't want to try going the other way (2o'clock) because there's very little space to avoid landslide and I don't want risking the MT to be in the line of LS.

Can someone advise on the better positioning to avoid the bombs while tanking the adds?
It's not so much of an issue (DPS either move in to avoid LS or I eat the bomb which isn't too much damage) but every time I've cleared Titan Ex, that part has always been a little bit sloppy.
    Thank you

Tell your DPS to kill both adds close to the same time or run to 2 o'clock. If the adds are at 3 o'clock, landslide will be straight up and won't reach the main tank. Even if it does, a good main tank can just side step it or pop Tempered Will/Hallowed Ground/Holmgang. It's not that big a deal.

Mainly dps issue if one add dies significantly before other, u doing it right as u said, 3clock than 4clock to dodge LS than back to 3o'clock, even if one dies early it seems u can walk over the AOE without getting heavy, move towards 2o'clock, the last add should be on top of left over AOE, walk around AOE to dodge the mini add LS, than back near 2/3 oclock.

Can't Edit with phone, I'm usually able to walk over the AOE if add die just as moving back to 3 o'clock, continue moving two 2clock, edge.

So I just failed tanking Garuda Extreme for the 170th time in a row. I would say this fight literally cannot be done if I didn't know so many people who have. Managing cooldowns for two wicked wheels, dodging two sets of slipstreams and watching the OT stacks for spiny is impossible. It's too many things to watch all at once. Dps complaining that I'm not watching text chat as well for their wanting me to move where I tank them is just absurd.

How are other people actually able to do this? Is watching five mechanics at once just easy for other people and I can't manage it? Or is there some trick that lets you ignore some of it?

Short answer is yes, its just easy for some of us. Try OTing, its a lot more friendly to someone having your issues. If that isn't an option, realize everything is timed. One HP trigger that you can look for. If you are doing it with a static, or familiar people, look for the signs! I'd post more but if you do some looking there are lots of suggestions/guides for this fight.
