Massive lag after 10 mins that comes and goes on a timer (timed it lol)

I've been experiencing a lag after about 10 minutes after first starting the game, everything goes slow and controls lag about 5-10 secs behind, after about a minute it snaps back and plays fine for a bout 5 mins then goes slow-mo again, snaps back repeating the process. Happens in town, in the field (fighting, and just standing still in a secluded area with no mobs). I've tried turning all the settings down and got the character so distorted I had to turn that one back up to even stand playing it. I bought this computer for FFXI a little over a year ago and it was f'n awesome, I understand FFXIV is a lot harder but even so this is a gaming rig. Side and sore note i know people hate reading benchmark info but figured it might help idk: Scored in the standard performance range, its been awhile since I ran it so can't remember exact number besides the scale.
    Any help would be appreciated,

Attempts to fix: In no particular order.
Took off covers and blew out dust, I do this regularly.
    Updated my graphics card drivers.
    Shutdown unnecessary programs.
Played right away after first booting up the computer, hours later.
I've tried wireless connections which is 300mb transfer, connected straight to the modem 1gb transfer.
Adjusted setting in graphics setting. Nada
Turned antivirus off, turned antivirus on gamer mode, left antivirus on (no difference between the 3)
My Games, FFXIV folder removed all but "Downloads", second time removed everything from folder.
Adjusted window size to lowest setting, windowed and fullscreen, no change
    MSConfig stoped startup programs
    Bypassed firewall
    Ran as admin

    Played full screen and windowed.

So, friend in my LS just had the same exact problem. This is how he ended up fixing it. Might work for you. In the Documents folder, under My Games, is a folder for Final Fantasy. In that folder, is a bunch of stuff. He /removed/ everything in that folder except "downloads" which contains the patch info, and placed it all in a temp folder on his desktop. When he restarted FF14, he had no problems. He moved files and folders on his desktop back into the Final Fantasy Folder. Eventually, one of the files or folders he put back caused the problem again. When he removed the folder/file again, the problem went away. I do not know which folder or file specifically caused the problem.

I don't know if this is the same issue he had; there are LOTS of things that can cause this sort of problem, from drivers, to other programs reading/writing to the HD, to leaving your torrents open. BUT, its an easy thing to test, and you don't loose anything from having tried (unless you delete the files instead of just moving them.)

Sadly didn't fix it, looked and sounded like it would, doing that took all the settings and gamepad off but still slowmo'd on me. Thank you for the suggestion.

Yes the game resolution. Can try that in windowed mode at a slightly lower res to see if that makes a difference. Other than that I'm not sure what else you can try.

Seems you've done everything but check your temperatures.. which is my guess at what's happening. Overheating and core throttling, causing the slowdown.

Post back with CPU and GPU temps when idle and then after running the game and experiencing the slowdown so we can see if this is the case.

Found it, GPU temp over 110C till it cools down, to 100C when it snaps back, idle 72C seems a little hot idle, maybe its (GPU) going bad, I don't think you can usually replace them in laptops though but idk I haven't looked for this one to see if its soldered in or not. Now to monitor CPU was so excited to find part of the problem lol. Thanxs all
