<True Strike>, lol you guys remember that? :PIt's not about the lack of grind or lack of "Final Fantasy" or whatever. It's that there's literally nothing fun to do in this game, grinding included. There are no dungeons, quests are mediocre at best, NMs are boring, and there's no point to doing anything. There is no reward other than seeing a bunch of numbers.
Where's the cool cutscenes? Cool zones? Interesting or difficult battles? Rare items? Hell, even FFXI's grinding, which I hated with a passion, was more involved and fun than FFXIV's.

Not so die hard as it seems :P

OP, I feel your pain. I think the core issue is that the game has such bad coding, which means it literally takes forever for them to add and change stuff to the game. We are all appreciative of the time it takes to program games, however the fact remains that this is a MMO that has already been released. There are only two scenarios as to why it takes them so long to update it. One is the reason I already mentioned, and the other is that the development team working on our game is tiny. Saying "You have no idea how long it takes to do this, and do that, and get it all tested" is relevant when you have a small group working on something. Last time I checked, this is a failed MMO that they spent a lot of money releasing and are now losing from, so I'm going to take a leap of faith and say they don't have a small group working on this.
Ergo, I'm going to stick with reason uno, the game was so badly coded that they are now having a nightmare changing it! I'll continue to stick around though, until it either gets better or is closed indefinitely.
How many times can they mess up pre-order codes?!?

Yeah, it seems that checking in every so often and "tight-rope walking" with our feelings on the matter is the only real option right now.
