    PvP Gears? Pls NO.

With the Wolves' Den, I noticed this PvP gear with the morale attribute. So.. pls, NO to PvP Gears...
PvP Gears and/with PvP attributes will separate the players, some will just straight do PvP, all day, only PvP, get the PvP gear, and do EVERYTHING with that shit, some players will forget the PvE and focus in PvP. I don't think FFXIV wants to be a Hardcore PvP game. So.. REMOVE this PvP Gear. PvP Prizes can be, minions, mounts, titles, gils, even a few exp... PvP Arenas are for fun, i REALY belive the FFXIV will introduce a good PvP with purpose with the Frontlines. A massive PvP to get territories, fame, whatever you're planning.

Now? What you can do? You RLY need a attribute to balance the classes in PvP? Well... Don't use the morale attribute as a materia slot(Just a idea). Players can get their gears from PvE and put in this "morale materia" in gear slots for PvP. So you force this PvP players to do PvE and don't separate the players in "two worlds".

To be honest - I think it should stay this way. They're giving the players a way to decide what they want to do: if you want to become a hardcore PvE player - no problem, if you want to become a hardcore PvP player - no problem.

You are saying something 'bout a "hardcore PvP game" - why do you say so? In this way you will have PvP and PvE. In the way you put it, it looks like a "hardcore PvE game", where you are forced to do PvE to do anything else...

    Just... stop...

Not only does PVP gear give people something to work towards, it makes balancing issues 1000x easier without affecting PVE.

Meduz has it right, they are two separate parts of the game as they should and need to be.

So... Do you rly think will be "two parts of the game" ?
With the frontlines, PvP Open Maps, where companies/grand companies will fight each other will be just a "part" of the game? PvE is a limited content. PvP isn't. One day you will not need to repeat the stronger dungeon of the game because you already have the gear, after that, what you'll do? Stay AFK on cities? Because if you try PvP/Frontlines with your guild, your ilvl90 gear will be nothing against a ilvl70 PvP Gear.

I know, everyone is accommodated with this Theme-Park MMO style, where you have a lot of things separated from the others.
But if is rly it that FFXIV wants to be, just another MMO where you have new releases of Dungeons farm for item level for PvE and Arena farm for new PvP Gears, I rly advise to stop this thinking. Because some MMOs already dying because of this. Final Fantasy can be a "Final Fantasy" but is still a MMO. So his inside the MMO market and every market have his obsolete/old features.

And i already saw ppl complaining about the path the FFXIV is going. Dungeons and Dungeons, and new dungeons...

So before you "try PvP/Frontlines with your guild" you just have to get some PvP items. Simple as that. For me it looks like you would like to play like Slash while using an acoustic guitar...

If we have pvp gear it shows us how much time someone spend on doing PvP = how good he may be. With your suggestion it is just a big question mark. He may be good, but also he may be one of the worst players you've ever seen.

Maybe we should also remove the DL/Allagan gear, and make more sockets to buy, so someone may go with his guild to high ilvl dungeons without putting any effort? :|

    I still disagree.

You're joking, right? PvE, the part where you get the most quests, additional skills, world travel, mounts/battle companion, retainers, grand company enlistment, unlocking mandatory and optional dungeons, crafting and gathering classes, FATEs, seasonal events, and the continuous main story in general ............. is the LIMITED aspect of this game? While PvP (a single arena) has unlimited potential?

They are separated for balance. It's MMO basics 101. Any successful MMO will separate the two. And last I heard, PvP players weren't disrupting the way I play PvE, either, so.....

Meduz: "Play like slash with a acoustic guitar? Slash don't play hard because his guitar, it's because his SKILLS, a 10k dollars guitar will not make you better than slash with a acoustic guitar. LOL~
You can show how many time someone spend with Arena PvP with tittles. And make the gears be more skill player based, and not a PvP Gear ilvl 70 overpowered in PvP against a ilvl 90 PVE gear. In successful PVP GAMES, the PvP is: 85% or more Skill Player based. Some players like to have a sporadic PvP, just go to a open PvP area, like the future frontlines, to help some friends and nothing more. This ppl don't want to live in PvP Arenas only to not die with 3 hits in open pvp areas, because they don't have the grinded pvp gear. o.o'' This players naturally aren't good in PvP and you add with a absurd gear difference, will destroy this players on open world PvP. I don't care about PvP Arenas, i'm concerned about the open pvp areas.

ruinedmirage: This PvE content will end one day, because one day you will have the best gears and higher possible levels in everything. When i refer a PvP as a unlimited content, i was referring about large scale PvP contents. Like Sieges, territory wars, politics, faction wars, not arenas. ARENAS will NEVER be a true PvP content. They are just for fun, like duels.

What moves a MMO world are the PLAYERS, not NPCs. A MMO can exists with no NPCs and a lot of players, but will shutdown if have more NPCs than players.

And pls, tell me a "successful MMO" with a consecrated, famous and/or epic PvP system. Because ALL MMOs that i know with this PvP Gear system the pvp is ordinary, simple and/or boring.

Well, guess you didn't understand what I meant...

The point was that you are not able to play like on electric guitar with an acoustic one... Both are guitars, yes? So why it isn't possible?

Same is with gear. Doing PvP in PvE gear is like trying to play like on a electric guitar while on an acoustic one. It just doesn't work.

I guess you played too much GW2, 'cause as I remember there we were able to put PvP jewels into the items... Am I right?

GW2 had a really lame system. As you got the exotic gear what else could you do? No gear progression, no real pvp gear... And gathering some gear is all the fun. But the gear which really gives you some boost. Not just the looks like it was in GW2...

And if you are trying to help your FC even if you are a PvE player... Well, they know you are, so if they don't tell you "don't go" thingy i guess they just don't mind, because even ungeared character may do something.
