Forum rank and text limit

This whole forum rank system is really frustrating. I can't make a long thought out topic because I have a maximum of 1000 words. So if I have a topic I'm passionate about and type 5K+ words, I need to break it up into five or more different post in one topic.

It's clear that some people get more words, I've seen longer post then 1K by higher rank members... why do this? I can understand limiting someone who's made 0 post before to prevent spam bots, but it's frustrating to think that only someone who spends half their time on the forums POSTING (not just reading) knows anything about the game

I think once you make a post, you can edit the OP and have more then 1k words when you do this. This is just what I've been told. And rank really means nothing on the forums.

I know it lets people post longer post. I've seen people with 3K+ worded replies that weren't edited. As in I was F5ing a page until their post appeared and it was 3K words or more, I couldn't even quote the post and just post that if I wanted. the editing a post tip is nice to have, but it's still frustrating when it comes to posting.

If I have a wordy post I just type it all out, cut everything but the first sentence and then post. After that, just edit the post and paste the rest of the stuff in.

Edits that are made within a minute or two of the original post don't show up as an Edited Post.

Did you see the thread I started this morning (five under this) on the same exact topic?

I'm talking seeing a post 1-5 seconds after it's posted. Not enough time to edit.
