    Bard - Foe Requiem Song - any recent changes?

    Just wondering if the data below is still relevant and/or reasonably accurate:


    So we tested it thoroughly. Foe Requiem does not do what it says, at all. It boosts magic damage by around 15%, aspected or unaspected, and it does not boost elemental damage whatsoever.
    How to test

    Bring a summoner with you, cast foe req, wait till the debuff is applied, have him cast miasma or bio (both are unaspected), stop singing foe req, have him try and reapply bio once the foe req debuff disappears. It will not apply because the game won't allow you to overwrite a stronger DoT with a weaker one. You can also observe the damage done to be roughly 15% higher.

    Not sure about Foe, but you can now replace a stronger debuff with a weaker one, so the testing method wouldn't work.

    The original description for foes reqium (lowered elemental resistance) was incorrect. The actual effect is lowered magic resistance and in 2.1 the tooltip was fixed and now shows the correct description (lowered magic resistance).

    So the question I have is when do we use it? With a long cast time, and toxic mana drain, do we need to precast then drop then recast and drop when someone in the group is going to use abilities this will enhance? If I leave it on for any duration of time, my mana goes kaboom, and I have nothing left for more of this or for ballad. Just curious.

    I just run it until I run OOM, especially if I use it early in the fight. Healers shouldn't be needing ballad unless someone's getting rez'd, and sometimes not even then.

    Garuda extreme I've taken to running it during each of the sister phases, unless sometime during the transition I see that a healer needs MP.

    If the healers are not undergeared in X dungeon, they shouldn't have any major MP problem at all, hence giving more room for your MP to regen for Mage's Ballad if it's needed.

    I personally don't leave my MP full if there's a DPS caster around especially Summoners, AFAIK their DoTs only need to be applied first (With Foe Requiem) then you can turn off your Foe Requiem afterwards.

    4 man groups, it's not worth using at all since at most you'll have 1 magic DPS class. 8 mans, it depends on the party make-up. If you have at least 2 DPS mages, it's worth casting, but even then it depends on the fight.

    Boosting a BLM or SMN's dps by 30% isn't worth it?
