I did 5 CT runs back to back, and got 2 healer drops and 18 monk drops. Yep, I'm not even exaggerating, I would only see monk drops on every boss, and all of it floor'd. Coil still only drops DRG crap too![]()

To me there seems to be a trend where a lot of the same shit drops for one person/group for a certain job (or 2). So while someone might say it's just RNG because another group gets other stuff, it looks like they get a TON of that other job.
Just an example to clear it up:
Group 1: lots of healer and drg loot.
Group 2: lots of tank and caster loot.
I guess the keyword here would be "lots of". Point being, certain groups get a lot of loot of only a select few jobs, 1 or 2. Following the trend posted in this thread and from what I've heard people say in game. That to me doesn't seem like correct RNG.

RNG doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the rng is so bad and then your locked out. Wow had lockouts and rng but the rng wasn't anywhere near this bad. I almost always got what I wanted with-in 3 runs not counting trinkets. This has been 16+ runs and the same shit drops everytime.
20 runs straight now, no healer or tank gloves, more mnk/drg gear, no blm gear, no healer gear, 1 tank drop not counting the shield everyone has 1 of already.
If this game isn't favoring melee drops, I'm not human and earth is a spaceship.
We are 5/5 on Allagan Tassets of Aiming from Twintania if that's of any help.
It's becoming a little infuriating.
I don't understand rng as well. I've been doing coil for 8 weeks and never saw pld body or hands drop, cleared coil t1-4 just now and on t1 it was both maiming accessories and on t4 drg head and mnk hands...wtf how is this possible

CT loot something is clearly wrong
whats wrong is their random number generator is horrible, they are probably not seeding it and it's spitting out the same tiers of numbers over a long period of time.

Remember that a pseudo-random number generator isn't actually random. My understanding is that it spits out a long number based on a starting number (the "seed") and just picks some digits to give you your "random" number. If it's badly designed, you can get strong correlation between successive numbers and if it's not reseeded it will repeat even if it's well designed.
Some people have been recommending leaving the zone you're in if you're having trouble with RNG during crafting, but I don't personally know if that helps. I do fall into the camp that suspects SE's RNG sucks (having failed high fraction things crafting way too often)
