I tried playing during a few fates after i set up my new modem and router and i get the same thing. I thought it might be fixed but i'm not sure what i can do about this now. I replaced everything @ my house and i still am getting the same huge pauses between actions. People will fight in a fate then just stand there and the same with the enemies, then after 5-10 seconds, it'll just all go fast like it was in fast forward. Ironic that now that i want to actually play the game, it prevents me from enjoying it.

You would think so. I don't have "unplayable lag" at all and I'm certainly not on Verizon Fios. Got a FC member also on Fios that's having issues, so I think it's safe to say it's currently an ISP issue that SE can't actually fix (as they don't run the ISP.)

people keep saying that it's not with the ISP but majority of people complaining the issue is with Verizon Fios... I as well have this issue all day till maybe after midnight EST.

    Assumptions, assumptions, assumptions...

SE had their own ISP network maintenance. Looking at my netlog from the 25th and 26th and being a Verizon FiOS customer, the issue isn't even coming from Verizon for me. I get all my packet loss from Ormuco nodes, which is SE's ISP in Montreal.

Thus it would be SE's problem in my case, not my ISP.

Used to not be able to play without a vpn. Then about 1 month prior to 2.1, I tried playing without my vpn again and found out I was able to and stopped using the vpn for ffixv arr ever since. I just thought that SE actually did something when they asked people for their connection infos.

Then after 2.1 hotfix, I was suddenly getting really bad lag again (the world around you stopped and the connection status is S:XXX R:0 and then after a random number of seconds, game would speed up everything around me to catch up) and I tried using my vpn with the game again. To my dismay, the situation is still the same and I'm still lagging really badly with the vpn on even though everything else I use with the vpn was near flawless. Can't help but feel that the patch/hotfix did something.

If you've paid any sort of attention at all for the past few months you would have seen that it has everything to do with the way your ISPs are sending your information. If they're routing you through cogentco to get to their servers then you'll lag and time out the connection very briefly. This is easily seen through a tracert for those with issues. This is also why using a VPN/tunnel service makes the lag go away as long as it doesn't take the same route.

As far as turn 2 strat if they never meant for people to survive or try to do it on a soft enrage than it would have been a hard enrage from the start or at least changed to it many patches ago when people first started doing it. My FC has done it w/ rot passing for the longest time and killed it every week just fyi.

You're the worst kind of person on the holidays; a troll.

Then how come the majority, if not all the people with the issue are Verizon customers? There was another online game I played, i've forgotten what it was now, but we had many people with issues and it all boiled down to Verizon there as well. Not saying it IS them, but if it indeed wasn't Verizon, why is only Verizon seemingly having the issue?

Yes, because the countless "I'm using Verizon and seem to have issues" on here as well as other forum communities is just..assuming it's verizon - I mean, clearly there's no common factor in people with "unplayable lag" lately.

Fyi, if it's SE's ISP that would mean everyone playing XIV ARR to this date would have unplayable lag, no exceptions. There's problems over in that side of the country which means hops by certain ISPs are affected - Verizon clearly being one of them. I'm not on Verizon and I'm not having this issue, however people in my FC on Verizon internet/Fios are having this issue...yes, assumptions..assumptions...

People really hate to admit when it can be their problem, which is why people get charged $200-500 for taking in a PC/Laptop etc to a shop and turns out it's only a configuration issue. Like..honestly lol, browsing around it's pointing to something with Verizon currently, SE's servers may not be perfect but everyone would be unable to play no matter your ISP if it was purely on SE's end.
