Wondering why Gear Sets aren't updating? Here's the scoop

Many of you should have noticed by now that the gear sets are no longer updating in level. With the introduction of the average item level, gear sets were changed to use this instead of the primary hand item level. The problem is, the old gearsets appear to be incompatible with this change and will no longer update, even if you try to overwrite it. The only way around this currently, barring any bugfixes, is to manually add a new gear set, and it will display in the new format as such: "WHM (Item Lv. 88)". I've confirmed the level does update on new sets.

Ohhh. So that's how it is. I changed mine to the class name instead of re-do it all again.

hmm, it has always been like that. You probably never tried to change the language of the client, but f you tried, it would lead to the same issue, the old sets can't update in the new language. I suppose the console code for update can't support any change in the way the set is named
