Shields are also a third of the stats for casters, should they choose to use them instead of a two-handed weapon. The same option could apply for Gladiator. Simply have two-handed swords and call them... swords. If you're worried about Paladin off-tank dps being too high with a two-hander, they could be limited to Dark Knight, weapon-by-weapon, similar to relics now.

First, nobody mentioned Dark Knights, and I'd rather they be Sword & Shield anyway. Second, two-handed swords would be a third weapon type that Gladiators would get(along with standard swords and daggers). And, third, two-handed swords will likely be put into the game with a brand new class, which is probably the best idea.

With most of i agree with you and 99% that will be,but with some i can not agree lol and tell you why...Not sure if you did or not but in 2010 when orinal version come out there was new class list(not jobs,only classes) which is would be implamented.So:
Beastmaster will be come from whiper,which is already was in final fantasy tactics,dancer will be come from rogue and not from pugilist,from pugilist will be come puppetmaster as you said Corsair from musketeer i agree but not red mage,red mage will be come from fencer which is that was in class list as well as arcanist which is now we have and even since some ppl knew arcanist will be come as summoner or just pet class remind summoner...About others class i have no idea lol can't say anything cause not sure :P

Come to think of it, is there such a job/class in mmo history, that well, instead of cure or hot or bubble, distrubute the dmg out to everyone.

Example:
Lifelink: Dmg recieved by target 80%, 20% to party members within 20yards.
Lifelink II: Dmg recieved by target 70%, 30% to party members within 30yards.
Lifelink III: Dmg recieved by target 70%, 30% to all within 20 yards of target(including mobs)

Directlink: You share dmg recieved by target. 50/50 (dmg can be blocked by stoneskin,etc)

Make a good support class/job.
