I don't see the point of Mystic if CNJ and BLM can both use staffs, maybe im missing something. Can you elaborate? Also GLA has use of Daggers which i always found odd... maybe it will have a thief like job due to it.My predictions...

Weapon type has little to do with abilities. The need for another Staff class is so they can use new abilities from 1 to 50. After all, Paladins can use daggers.
Mystic will be a healer from the start like Conjuror.
Yeah that's what I don't get if its a healer like CNJ and uses the same weapons why a new class and not just make the jobs off from CNJ? Since you didnt state any abilities it seemed like an extra CNJ
Its role is Tanking, with supporting abilities, hence the term Hybrid, and it's not in the game yet but Yoshi said it will be. And how will two tanking classe cause headaches? I see more customization on a role, Tanking.
in FF1 and FFXI RDM could use swords and shields. Also daggers and shields, much Like GLD now. But the way i see the game is that every new Job will bring a new class.
example RDM and Fencer, thief and Rogue, Dark Knight and berserker maybe. Who knows. The things is this is a new game, and based with what they did with classes and jobs, like archer going to bard, then anything is possible. So i'm trying to see what ideas you guys have, what you can come up with, not what you can shoot down.

Because, would 6 jobs using CURE be as interesting? No. A new class that gets a whole new line of heals. Heal over time heals primarily would be Mystics role. Maybe a new type of buff, they could easily get creative with it.
All classes will have two jobs only, as stated by Yoshi pre release.
Edit - Not to mention both Conjuror and Thaumaturge both use two handed staves.
Then what abilities would it have? Like I said be creative. It's hard to see your vision when you just said "mystic"Because, would 6 jobs using CURE be as interesting? I'm sorry I thought we were all fans of Final Fantasy and knew what classes they can bring. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_F...character_jobs Here is a list of jobs in previous FF games.
Mystic as a CLASS would be a heal over time healer, with very few direct heals. Imagine Scholar + HOTs instead of shields, and no pet. Their first job, Green Mage, would enhance their healing role. Their JOB abilities would primarily be debuff and buff based. They could be given the opposite of Protect (Shell) that is stronger in the magic defense side than the armor. If you want to get fancy you can instead give them a two handed mace, which they've been known to use as well.
Yeah that's what I don't get if its a healer like CNJ and uses the same weapons why a new class and not just make the jobs off from CNJ? Since you didnt state any abilities it seemed like an extra CNJ

.
Then it should come off of a different class. Its that simple There's no reason for a single class to have two ways to Tank or Dps, or heal or whatever. One will always be seen as superior it will end up fluxated back and forth like specs in WoW.
Isn't that what already happens? People want to respec every time they switch from SCH to SMN, you can chance Xclass abilities on the fly. And I Don't think one will be better than the other (otherwise why have 2 tanks PLD, WAR) But they will be the same and just offer more versatility. Maybe you can Spec all into Piety so your Time Knight will be better and Your PLD might suffer from it, but you prefer to play that. This post is about what Jobs you can come up with for existing classes. If you dont think GLA is a home for it where does it belong on the existing classes?
Please do!Current Stuff:
Gladiator > PLD, BLA (Blademaster, DW DPS)
Marauder > WAR, DRK / BST
Pugilist > MNK, PUP
Lancer > DRG, CHK (Choco Knight)
Archer > BRD, RNG / BST
Thaumaturge > BLM, NEC (Necromancer)
Conjurer > WHM, GEO
New Stuff:
Fencer > RDM, BLU
Rogue > THF, DNC
Ronin > SAM, NIN
Musketeer > PIR, GUN (Pirate, Gun Mage)
That's my guess anyway. I can go into more details if you like.
And i see Paladin here is exactly the same as in Paladin in FF11, same for warrior and bard.I'm sorry I thought we were all fans of Final Fantasy and knew what classes they can bring. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_F...character_jobs Here is a list of jobs in previous FF games.
