My static does it the non enrage way. But I went with a PUG today and they did the enrage and I have to say that it seems harder.

i went with a PUG this week and they did it this way and that + all the party finders i see saying "1 click strat" is why i made this post.. i mean this PUG even tried to being 3 healers because they had 1 tank.. i said if you really want an extra job bring an extra DPS, if the healers (me being one of them) arent competent enough to heal through his enrage then they need a little more practise and probably shouldnt be healing in coil
I don't see what makes a WHM better at this? with a SCHs succor you get 3 things happening:
1- initial heal, around 350 at iLv 80
2- shield for the same amount, making that heal worth 700
3- Crits, which you see alot of, for 560ish which then shields for 1120 for a maximum of 1680 negated
i wouldn't discourage people from taking SCHs now in this already laughable strat

White Mage is a throughput healer. Scholar is a mitigation healer. Both are very important, and Scholar is very powerful except - and this is important - in the realm of filling the healthbars backup. As a mitigation healer, Scholar excels at preventing the healthbars from going down, but the role of the White Mage is to fill the bars back up. There is a throughput limit that every Scholar has (especially in terms of AoE healing) because half of their healing is tied to shields. Their only real source of "burst" is Lustrate - which makes them fabulous tank healers but not exactly phenomenal raid healers in situations of extreme high damage. Consider, too, the high chost of Succor in relation to the actual healing it does (not looking at the shielding - that's very important, but again, it doesn't fill the healthbars back up).
Meanwhile ADS is hitting you for ~1500.with a SCHs succor you get 3 things happening:
1- initial heal, around 350 at iLv 80
Which means the next hit is for ~1150, of which only 350 is filled back up.2- shield for the same amount, making that heal worth 700
This only matters for the spell Adloquiem. When Succor crits, the shield is not doubled.3- Crits, which you see alot of, for 560ish which then shields for 1120 for a maximum of 1680 negated
The incoming damage is such that it really does work out better if you take 2-3 White Mages. 1 Scholar probably won't kill you, but unless all healers are geared to the teeth, it's going to be touch and go because the Scholar just doesn't have the burst to keep up (though with two good White Mages, a Scholar could very much help with smoothing out the damage pattern).i wouldn't discourage people from taking SCHs now in this already laughable strat

It's absolutely a gear check mechanic - for your healers, at any rate, and to an extent, for everyone else.
