I have done both methods several times. The only issue I have with this is the large number of groups doing it and locking out more healers than any other job. There are a bunch of tanks left on Sunday stuck at T2 because this method only requires 1. Given the LB Nerf to parties not inviting every class I could see them nerfing this for the reason I mentioned.
All this talk of "cheap" reminded me of sirlin's definition of scrub.

So i will assume, and I know I will not receive a reply like a post before me, nor will the op respond, I shall assume everyone who thinks it's cheap never did a speed run ever? Or are u a hypocrite?
Or used the guns to kill the last 3 giants in CM.
Or got help with their relic quest from their FC.
Or got carried through (or bought) Titan HM.
Or those who watch videos of dungeons before running them.
Or FATE spammed.

Speed runs are a bit cheap, doesn't mean I've never done one.. sometimes it's nice to not take as much time. I just call it like it is, not saying that people can't/shouldn't do it until it's fixed.
Cheap is a stupid word that is used as a joke now in competitive gaming. Anyone who uses that word seriously is usually a scrub. Although in a PvE game you have to ask, what are you in it for? The destination or the journey, I for one had beat T2 normally and felt rewarded, after trying it enraged I still received the loot but did not walk away fulfilled.

This
It's not cheap it a clever way of doing something. It's like being at work and someone figured out a way to do something faster and easier to get the job done so you can get off early. Are they also cheap? Or are you a white Knight and tell that person you must do it the harder slower way because that's the way it was intended? I know personally I would be home quicker so I get more ff pew pew in

It could also be akin to finding loopholes in policies and such, which isn't always looked well upon... and in cases of tax evasion and the like is actually portrayed in a very poor light. Just because something technically "follows the rules" doesn't always make it right, or smarter. This

I don't see anyone in this thread telling people how they should do Turn 2, or that they're bad people for wanting to cut time off. All I see is people saying that doing something that disables all of a bosses mechanics (or even mob mechanics) is a cheap thing to do. It would be like recognizing the guild that downed Twintania using in game bugs as the actual world first downing of the boss, and I don't think that's appropriate.
I'm not going to look down on anyone that clears it that way. Both groups in our FC that run Coil have done it that way as well, but I'm also not going to sit here and pretend that it's something it isn't, and I'm not going to be at all surprised when SE fixes it because it's the only strategy people use anymore. Just like they fixed AK (both for speed running, and the first boss), just like they fixed Titan, Twintania, and Dark Devices. I'm also not going to laugh when they do it.. cause quite frankly I don't care. It doesn't effect my game play (well, aside from the occasional pug that claims to have lots of Turn 2 experience but then turns out to only know the enrage).
