Vote kick making dps rude?

So I hate to be that guy, since I rarely tank, today I felt like practicing my tanking, it seemed like almost every party I joined, while I'm marking the adds, a dps would pull, and when I let them know they can tank, they rudely act like its my fault when they can tell I'm in the middle of setting up a pull. the last few even acted like because they pulled and I refused to try and take aggro off of +1 dps, while I'm not a +1 pld, that they could kick me. I understand I told them to tank, but there's no reason to be rude when your not properly doing your job. This right here, makes me not want to tank, the fact that now people can get away with being rude, and pin the kick on someone else, for properly doing their job, while the person kicking is not.

Anyone else come across this at all today?

Doing do doesn't allow one to use the Duty Finder Roulette, or get commendations. Meaning if I do nothing but use party finder, I'll get less tome and money in the long run.

Perhaps they thought you were going a bit slow or perhaps they were too impatient. I encounter both kinds of dps and tanks in my groups: tanks that like taking their time marking everything and it feels like a snoozefest and dps who have had way too much coffee and just chainpull everything and not letting a tank mark anything at all. Both are pretty annoying there needs to be a balance of tank being quick to mark and dps having enough self control not to pull everything.

And trust me, I stopped for a few seconds to mark adds, and they just pulled xD both dps. It had nothing to do with being slow.

Its nothing new and its not like he can kick you alone. The vote to kick system won't fix the trolling and rudeness.

Pretty sure "Bad" isn't a reason for kicking in accordance with DF kicks. Abusing that is a sure fire way to get a GM action in no time if SE is at all serious about it.

offline
harassment
cheating

I say, if they do boot you, report said players for being asshats, and then move on- you won't get re-entry timer'd for it.

Depends on how serious SE are. If they do nothing and allow people to votekick for inane reasons "coz u r wearin pinkz!" then people will take that as a motion from SE that they can boot people for any reason. If SE wants to strongly enforce the allowed reasons for booting to deter idiots from booting for inane reasons, they issue a 24 hour temp ban, the idiots complain, people see that SE are serious and only use the votekick for the correct reasons rather than risk a 24hr temp ban.

Obviously the main issue is proof, how do you prove you were not afk, so take screenshots if you're booted for no reason so you can show you was not afk.

Not really, the AFK is easily disproven. All MMOs I played since UO gave the GMs the ability to look at all logs around the incident, so all a GM would have to do is glance at a battle log to see the afk claim was bunk.

Hate to say it but probably not. However, it's too stupid of a risk to honestly take since all it would take is a GM about a minute to look at the chat log/reason of kicking to pass judgement- so it is too simple of a thing to not look into unlike say, bots and such.

And I won't lie- I notice gil spammers are usually dealt with pretty fast lately, as in there are a few times when I went to hit my black list macro and the were already deleted.

Long point short, the risk for said impatient melee is too much.
Besides, they risk getting a worse tank and being back in square 1 if they take that option.
