    Crystal Tower Loot System - What needs to be done

    Hi,

    The current loot system in Crystal Tower doesn't work, simply because there's no reason to continue the raid if your item drops. What am I talking about? here's an example for a better understanding.

    This happened last night.

    Boss Dies

    Alliance A receives Tank armor
    Alliance B receives Healer armor
    Alliance C receives Healer armor

    Alliance A's tank wins loot, leaves the raid.
    Alliance B's healer wins loot, leaves the raid.
    Alliance C's healer wins loot, leaves the raid.

    This is a problem and obviously wasn't thought out before releasing the content... I understand your reasoning behind 1 item per weekly lockout, you want the content to last long before 2.2 is released, this is completely understandable and I'm not arguing that method.

    What I don't appreciate is the fact that there's nothing stopping people from leaving once they receive gear... what's waiting for them at the end? 50 mythology... that's not enough "reward" to keep people hooked into the raid after they have their item.

    Here's my suggestion, which in my honest opinion would fix most of your problems.

    Keep the loot system in place, you want CT to last for months.. that was obvious.

    Suggestion

    Add Crystal Tower to the Duty Roulette system, this can be completed once a day.

    Rewards

    10,000 Gil
    200 Philosophy Tomes
    100 Mythology Tomes
    1 RANDOM Crystal Tower ilvl 80 piece of armor

    Reasoning

    What!? that's way too much... all that myth, all that gil... and a random i80 armor!??

    First of all, this is "DAILY" which means you can't spam it and cap your myth this way.. if you did, it would take 5 days if you were doing this and nothing else.

    Secondly, this whole thing is to keep players in the raid so what better way to keep them enticed by giving them a worthwhile reward waiting for them at the finish line.

    This is our goal, we are trying to prevent players from leaving once they receive their loot, remember? 10k gil is pretty decent, giving a RANDOM i80 armor means they still have a chance to win something for their class or it will go towards their other classes, making the journey worthwhile in the end.

    This is my 2c, feel free to add to it.. even if my suggestion doesn't go through, which is completely understandable :\ I still think something (anything) needs to be done about CT loot system.

    7 extra il80 pieces a week even if random is a bit much. You also have to account that the Myth reward doesn't help players who have reached their tome cap from other sources.

    I thought about that, but honestly 7 is fine considering it's completely random and given the number of classes we have in the game I don't think it'll be an issue. Also, this will help from spamming the same dungeon over and over just to cap your myth, with this new daily it would add variety to the myth farming... unless we change my suggestion to a "weekly" instead of a "daily"? I guess that could work too

    There are only 36 pieces of loot from CT (head, body, arms, waist, legs, feet = 6; tank, healer, caster, mnk, brd, drg = 6 sets). They are also Unique, meaning you won't get the same one drop from reward unless you want to see the same piece (which you can't get because you already have) for the same x times.

    Also current cap is only 450 myth, you get 100 from roulette + 50 at the end = 150 myth. You only need to do this roulette 3 times a week to cap it. I disagree entirely with Duty Roulette.

    Tbh they could always increase the cap a bit more, like 2 a week or even 1 lock out at each chest instead of the whole level. There are 36 pieces, so at the current pace it takes 36 weeks to get all sets. If they double the cap you still have to spend 18 weeks to get all sets, at which point 2.2 would be released already with more stuff to get, which is fair enough.

    And tbh, I've done CT about 6 times and none of the JP leaving pt because they got something...

    Although I see where your coming from, if someone leaves, they are usually replaced fairly quickly.

    And the new person needs gear anyways. So having the person who just got their item dip, help other players get theirs.
    I know I always click, join in progress on CT when I do mine. I prefer to not have to start at the beginning.

    To be fair to the idea, you have to compete against the RNG for loot as it is now anyway. You could do a dozen runs from start-to-finish and not see the item you want. The end result of this, I suppose, is just to give you some consolation prize of something that MIGHT be useful to you at the end of a run.

    After running CT a little over two dozen times this week looking for a drop from Behemoth and having him drop Ballad Corselet more than 50% of the time, I reported it as a possible bug. Out of those runs, the Corselet dropped thirteen times, the second highest drop from Behemoth was the monk legs which dropped five times, the Armor of Light dropped three times, and the Crimson Circlet and Royal Robes dropped twice each. The item I was looking for, the Crimson Legs, never dropped and at the end of the day I ended up settling with the Crimson Circlet since I knew I'd have to farm it from Behemoth as well anyways. Literally, the only thing I got out of all those extra runs after the Myth cap was a repair bill for each trip and needless to say, if you're going to make me run a dungeon that many times and then never actually give me the item I want, the least you can do is not make me pay to do it. I don't want to get my full set in my first run, but at the same time, I'd at least like to get something out of it to keep me from going bankrupt while trying to get the gear I need.
