Apparently the devs have decided Ifrit EM's nails shouldn't be ignored during the last phase even if you have the dps to burn him down before the normal timer. He decides you've pushed him too far and just hellfires you for funsies. It was pretty funny to see so I'm not even too mad about it. lol

My last fights ended with 1 or 2 on the countdown... even with over geared groups. My heart can't take that.

Nah, we were dpsing ifrit and during the final nail phase with the massive one in the center we were like "We could probably kill ifrit before the timer is up and he does hellfire". But apparently it's coded in that if the nails are up and you push ifrit to like 5% he automatically does hellfire and kills the group.

nah, when i did ultima with df he never used ultima

then again no one lb'd so maybe that's why

I think Ultima special move is on a timer you get so long to kill him and if he not dead in that time then he will fire of his countdown and BOOM you all dead!. Maybe it's the same with EX ifrit!.

Tested it again. Ifrit's hellfire is on a health percentage timer. If you go past that while the nails are still up he'll auto-hellfire you and end the fight. So it's like a ...too much dps enrage. Or something.

I beat Ultima like 5x, and honestly didnt even know he did his ultimate attack. Never got a whiff of it.
