Macro/Crossbar layout help needed

OK, so i leveled my my PLD to 50, and i have been playing around with the cross bar setup (got a controller for my PC for christmas) and i tried placing a Macro in it

/ac "Fast Blade" <t>
/ac "Savage Blade" <t>
/ac "Rage of Halone" <t>

THinking this would help with bar space, seeing i am now going down from 6 bars to 3, but it doesnt work. am i doing something wrong?

Also if anyone has some advice on Macros or PLD cross bar setups, that would be appreciated as well

I'm a warrior, but macros are the same in any case. the reason its not firing off is your GCD, or Global Cool Downs. You need to add a /wait 3 between the lines of the actions, to counteract the GCD. and here is a very useful link to several macros some people like, and another post on the forums. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1598601
A macro i would reccomend is one i use for my heavy swing though. i use the items listed in a specific order to place them to activate correctly. For a paladin, try this.. line 1: /micon "Fast Blade" line 2: /ac "Spirits Within" <t>
line 3: /ac "Fast Blade" <t> line 4: /ac "Shield Lob" <t> This macro will allow you to reactive all in 1. if SW is up, it will use it first. if youre in melee range it will Fast Blade, if youre out of melee range it will Shield Lob. Then make your second macro for the rest of your combo line 1: /micon "Rage of Halone" line 2: /ac "Savage Blade" <t> line 3: /wait 3 line 4: /ac "Rage of Halone" <t>
As for actions other than ones on GCD, depending on the length of the animation, will require /wait 1 or /wait 2 between them

Refer to the paladin tanking compendium it had a ton of good info.
Putting waits in never seems to work quite right. The only thing I have macroed is fight of flight and fast blade together. Savage and rage are by themselves. Getting the rage combo is the most important thing for keeping hate. You don't want to put anything it that will jeopardize that.

I understand about the waits, I learned my lesson with healer macros, but when i was using mouse and keyboard, i could set a macro like the one i put in the OP, and would them be able to click the keybind three times to hit all three skills, but this one isnt working and idk why

Its been tested and proven btw that the game doesnt support fractional wait times. a /wait 2.1 automatically gets bumped to wait 3, for example.

the 2.5 works just fine for this, I dont recommend playing with this macro as the game is already dull enough but this will work just fine.

I've tested it multiple times and if not it doesn't matter, I have all my Pali macros set for 2.5 and they hit

I tested with crafting macros, and /wait 2.5 always works for me, /wait 2.1 failed consistently.

Macros like that work for CDs or abilities with conditions that keep them from being spammed (procs, monk stances, etc.), because they'll skip any skills you can't actually use when you press the button. Since Fast Blade is always available when the GCD comes up, there's nothing for the macro to skip. You're asking the game to use Fast Blade first, and that's what it does.

Reversing the order wouldn't help, either. All three skills are always available (except during GCD). You can SB or RoH at any time, they just won't be combos if you use them out of order.
