Add 2-3 support roles, Retweak all current content to 5 man..
Add 2-3 support roles, Retweak all current content to 5 man..
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!

Groups would take 10 times longer to get together because support is an unpopular role that you effectively have to sucker people into playing (XI's RDM and COR come to mind). Some of you have really learned nothing from the past, it seems. 0.o
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
RIFT is actually a fairly prime example of a Support Role poorly implemented. Waiting for the Dungeon Finder to find that Support guy was atrocious, and getting a team of 5 before that tool was made was even worse.
I don't get why Bards aren't happy with how the Job functions. As a Monk, Scholar and Warrior, i LOVE having a skilled Bard in my party.
Every Job has a Role, something it's good at. Monk has exceptional continuous single target DPS. Black Mages have exceptional periods of burst damage. Dragoons are a good mix between the Black Mages burst and the Monks continuous DPS. Summoners are great at dealing a lot of constant damage to multiple targets at once.
The strength of the Bard is its ability to greatly improve the performance of everyone in your party, through resource regeneration or bonus damage with Requiem.
If you want to just do massive damage ranged hits, roll a Black Mage, don't try to force a Job to change to suit your desires. Leave the poor Bards alone to do what they're good at -_-
I'm baffled that some people think Bard will no longer classify as a DPS class if they exchange their personal damage for party wide DPS boost songs.

Bard is an advanced job, will keep its DPS just like it is. Did they even say they are going to give us Ranger?
They should turn Bards into healers =P

Lifelong Ranger in ffxi, happy with how bard in 2.0 has turned out, but I'd love a pure ranged dps class via bow/gun. I'm thinking we'll see musketeer instead of ranger, and I'm ok with that as long as it's a pure DPS class and not like Corsair was in 11.

Musketeer is a "class" a job from Musketeer is could potentially be Ranger...Now i'll start looking it up since i can't remember too well...but i could have sworn with the potential introduction of puppet master as an alternate job from Musketeer...but i'll look up anything i can now and edit it in when i find it.
I am a winner, even though I sometimes fail.
I dont want ranger using guns (Musketeer) better ranger branch from Archer (BOW)Musketeer is a "class" a job from Musketeer is could potentially be Ranger...Now i'll start looking it up since i can't remember too well...but i could have sworn with the potential introduction of puppet master as an alternate job from Musketeer...but i'll look up anything i can now and edit it in when i find it.
Muskeeter can go DPS ( dual guns! pew pew) and Buffs (corsair/gambler)
so essentially because your dps numbers are slightly less now you want the whole class changed because your ego is hurt?
LOL
