So your FC (Fairy Tail, Cerberus) raises some money and calls everyone else lazy freeloaders? I suppose that speaks for itself.

so i guess words will be put into my mouth that everyone takes WAY out of perspective. think of it this way, mcdonalds =$8 an hour, Psychiatrist=$150, who worked harder to get where they were? who put the TIME and EFFORT into it. hell, i started at $6.25 an hour, im making $18 an hour now because i worked a little harder and got a degree. Same can be said for this, everyone wants a new car (house) at $8 an hour but complains when only people who make $18 may be able to afford it. Complaining rarely gets you ahead in life. And plus, they have stated prices will be going down, no reason for you to freak out as long as you and your fc work towards the same goal.

From our worlds' perspectives, SE paid 2/3 or 5/6 the price of your house, but won't do the same for us. That is why many people on the top two world tiers are complaining. Not because houses aren't free. Sure some of us had extra in "lifetime savings" from playing v1, but from all accounts that covers less than half the difference in price. Plus most of our FCs have lots of new players who had no extra savings.

and yes, i do feel your pain, i also agree that pricing even on your worlds was ridiculous. But we took only a short while to make the money to get our house. even if you have to pay more it shouldnt take you that much longer once prices start dropping a lot more.

Why are you talking about professions which generate income, in comparision to the frivelous purchasing of something that provides no utility at this piont in time?

Look at it this way:

Brand new 2014 Honda Accord is $21,680

Brand new Rolex New Style Men's Day-Date Yellow Gold President Champagne Diamond Dial - 18K Fluted Bezel- Presidential Bracelet 36 MM 118238 watch is $28,100.


One of those products is going to get you places and provide a ton of utility.

The other is going to rest on your wrist and you might check it a few times a month to see what time it is. (truthfully though, you're probably going to go for your cell phone or just look at a clock in a room 99% of the time you want to know the time)


Only two types of people buy the $28,000 rolex... people who are FILTHY rich, and idiots.

Someone who saves up every penny for years to buy a rolex is an idiot. The ulitity provided by a wristwatch is minimal when compared to comparable products in that pricerange. (i.e. a car, which will get you places you need to go, or the downpayment on a rental property that one could use as a source of revenue generation)


Right now, FC housing is a rolex. It is a status symbol and nothing more.

Also, it's depreciating in value every 6 hours. Which makes it a poor example to a Rolex, which is at least made out of precious metals that could potentially raise in value over time.



My point? Stop comparing FC housing to working a job. Housing isn't a job, it's a purchase. There are wise purchases and there are stupid purchases, right now FC housing is a stupid purchase for everyone outside of people who are, again, FILTHY rich.

If you and your FC are proud of your purchase, that's great. If you all had fun working together to pool up the gil necessary, again, that's awesome and more power to you. Don't let me tell you that you didn't have a good time doing it if you know you did.

Trying to tell others they are stupid for not "working as hard" (in a freaking video game) is ridiculous though. There is no incentive to work hard for something that is going to drop in price every 6 hours (scheduled and announced) and which provides ZERO utility at this point in time.

And for the love of God, stop comparing FC housing to working a job! Working a job is a source of revenue generation, which is in no way comparing to purchasing FC housing, which is a complete gil sink. A more apt example would be a McDonald's employee spending his entire paycheck on Air Jordan sneakers on release day... it's a stupid (luxary) purchase because you're never going to get a RoI (return on investment) on a pair of Air Jordan's and you're going to get minimal utility. Everything Air Jordan's can do, a pair of Converse All-Stars can do at a fraction of the price. You're paying a ton of money for a brand, not for actual utility. For someone who is fility rich, who cares, money isn't a object. For someone who is looking to make a rational purchasing decision, Air Jordan's are a TERRIBLE investment.

In a logical sense, buying something with little utility is not very logical. So your argument has a logical point.

In logical sense, telling someone not to buy what they like, is not very logical.

FC housing do havw some perks to it right now. No specific features but definite social status perks.

If you aren't aware of it right now, the battle for ward 1 in all three cities is beginning on some servers. Like players who rush to get server first, its a rush to be on ward 1 of the three major cities. If your any of the Power house FCs or a FC that wants to be recognized, you'll be want to be on ward 1 amongst all the other powerhouses and not ward 5.

I've definitely seen a small FC lot boost recruitment levels for certain guilds. Instead of spamming for recruitees, recruitees are now spamming them.

Its not completely entirely useless.

its the whole reason i compared it to a job, its the same CONCEPT, to better understand something it is psychologically proven that putting one situation in place of another that has the same CONCEPT more people are likely to understand it. and your post proves my point even more. both are frivolous expenses compared to the alternatives of spending no money and taking a public bus instead of buying that 21k car. and buying a cheap watch from walmart for $5 instead of that 28k, all these have the same utility, all do the same job. its the same CONCEPT.

please, putting words into other peoples posts is ridiculous. no where did i ever say anyone was stupid.

the utility that it has provided us is fun and entertainment. isnt that the whole reason we play this game?
