Kind of off topic but I noticed some people who had their 500 commendations within a few days of implementation on Blamung server. Abuse of the system much? Might want to look into that, SE.![]()

It isn't really that hard. Roll a tank/healer and do the first few Guildhests repeatedly and be nice. I got about 15 in my first hour of playing when commendations came around with Guildhests only and I wasn't even farming them, I was just doing Guildhests to unlock new story content. There are many people out there that will sit and run the same Guildhest repeatedly for a few hours each day.
If anything they just underestimated how much people are willing to farm when you don't put a weekly cap on something. Mindless grinding isn't new to the majority of MMO players.
Moogle: Black Mage ftw.

Here's a link to a bunch of rotation and DPS numbers I wrote up to try help BLM see they aren't as weak as they might think.
I agree so much that we shuld be able to command someone else even when we are with friends...I guess it's complicated though coding a different system so that it blocks out the person/s you queued with. But it's sad. When I do CT I never ever queue alone, but still theres many other people in my group who I'd like to commend and can't. Same with all the other dungeons I duo queue for...there's 2 other persons who are missing on commendation.
Classic considering by the time you have finished watching the end cut scene the player/s have left,so I am basically voting for thin air....Hello!
During the creation of the Player Commendation system was being created, we planned to make it so you could vote for people even if they are no longer in the instance. However, we had to drop this from patch 2.1 as it involved making core system changes to the game itself. We are continuing to look into whether or not we can implement this in the future.
I usually give my vote out for whomever actually did the best in their role that run. That being said, I know I've done really well as a summoner in dungeons with a bad tank and a terrible healer only to come out without any commendations. This whole "Healer and Tank" patting on the back thing is really disheartening for DPS players.
I usually give it to the person that made the biggest difference in the run. It's generally reserved for players with good damage output. But I might give it to a healer if the damage output is pretty regular and maybe I wiped the group pulling too much trash and they didn't get upset about it.
I don't usually give it to a tank though. Unless they tank as good as or better than me![]()
I'd happily give my vote to you Nel because you're famousI usually give my vote out for whomever actually did the best in their role that run. The first two or three guildhest only take 5 or 6 minutes to do so theyve basicly just ran that 500 or so times.
.
I if I have the time will evaluate every player on the instance. IF I find they generally help me out as a tank, such as virusing adds, debuffing a boss, really good dps, heal really well, I'll hand out commendations. But the primary motivator will be kindness. IF I see a player being helpful especially if we have a new person, then I'll hand out a commendation to them as well. I hand out commendations to all players not just the healer.
Just added this to another post I was reading, but then I saw this so adding it here.
My Commendation method:
Terrible run? No commendations for you
No one stands out, and it's a smooth run? Tank/Healer (depending on which I'm playing)
No one stands out, and dps is really fast? Top DPS
Bad Tank and a DPS protects me? DPS
Crowd Control in weaker groups? BLM
Great Conversation? Whoever I enjoyed talking to most
Explains fight IF someone needs it? Helpful person (I've gotten a lot while leveling bard for this so I know others do it too)
New player that is willing to take advice and learn? All yours (I wish I finished the AK run with the fresh WHM that I had to coach to not use cure II all the time and not pre regen, and believe in their aoe heals, cause they actively appreciated all of the advice and followed through)
What I'd really like for them to do though, is allow those in groups to commend people not in their group, I ran WP on my tank with our FC's top dps blm and brd and the healer was fairly fresh (had obviously done WP before but they were only around 3k health) I asked if they would be comfortable with speed pulls (skill > gear) and they said they'd try. So I went through my normal speed run pulls and they really kept up, sure I had to burn some excess cooldowns, and our dps thought I was crazy but no wipes no deaths and it was a smooth fast run. I wanted to give them commendations SOOO bad. But alas I could not.
