Don't worry about it ^.^ players should just wait a bit after finishing to say their farewells, thanks yous and commendations.Hello!
During the creation of the Player Commendation system was being created, we planned to make it so you could vote for people even if they are no longer in the instance. However, we had to drop this from patch 2.1 as it involved making core system changes to the game itself. We are continuing to look into whether or not we can implement this in the future.

I feel bad not being able to commendate nice players when I join a duty with my friend. We should still be able to give commendations to the other players. :<
This so much!
I've had several amazing people in my parties that I wasn't able to commend because I was w/ a friend.
It's perfectly acceptable that I cannot commend my friends because we're in a premade group. However, as others have said it is unfair to those players who join up using duty roulette and do an outstanding job.
I hope SE addresses this soon!
but to answer OPs question.
I commend players who are friendly, helpful, and play their role well.
I know it can be difficult to talk in party especially if you're tanking. The game design doesn't exactly encourage party conversation. However, efforts should be made since it really helps make the experience in that dungeon a lot better.

Could you also please make changes to the loot system as well?
(1) The auto-loot in Crystal Tower must be resolved.
(2) In 2.1, when everyone left and I am the only person to then open a coffer, I still had to wait for the full 3 minutes countdown. This should not be the case.
Ideally why not let us receive items in the mail or simply drop it on us even if we have left the instance? Often there are people who don't roll and it's quite a waste of time to have to wait for them. More people are rolling now thanks to having the GC provisions window fixed, but there could still be cases when we are wasting time waiting around.

my order (as a healer):
if there is new player in the team (like during roulette)
1/ new tanks who played well
2/ new player who was better than the tank
3/ veteran tank
if no new players
1/ any players that I remember by the end of the run
2/ if no memorable player, to the tank if he did not screw up

I'll commend pretty much anybody if I think they were the MVP. But it's easier for me to to quantify it negatively. The people who don't get my vote are one or more of the following:
a) rude
b) pushy/impatient
c) way worse at the game/their role than they obviously think they are
d) begging for commendations
e) blatantly ignoring a guildhest's instructions and causing repetitive failure
Due to this, my commendations pretty evenly fall on any role.
For me I give:
1-First timers and new players
2-DPS (we don't get much love)
During WP runs, my comm goes to any whm who didn't spam holy, or to tanks that knew where to pull enemies to avoid sir stabby the 14th's patrolling friends~
Dps get my comm /if/ they take note of tank's max health and monitor how many stacks of rancor the king has~
for most other dungeons -
A) anyone friendly
B) happy to explain boss mechs to new players
C) anyone who played their part particularly well
D) new players who didn't try to hide their lack of experience and who were happy to try different tactics. (One such instance was asking a CNJ to augment killing the fire sprites in halatali's final boss)
1. Anyone that speaks more than 2 characters
2. Anyone that does their jobs to the best of their perceived ability, because sometimes you can tell between a bad lazy healer and someone that is really trying their best.
3. Knows mechanics or asks before fights instead of winging it.
4. Anyone who commends me, even if I didn't perform my best.
┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ︵ ┻━┻
anyone except Tanks and Healers.
its usually the other dps in the party. only if he's rude/doesnt play his job correctly. then i would pick either tank/healer (random).![]()
