Commendation System: So who get's your vote?

I think it's an idiocy that when you enter as a party you can't recommend. Let's say you enter as DPS with a healer buddy. Why can't we recommend the tank or the other DPS? Would be more then sufficient to just ban recommendation on the party member you entered with but not on completely unknown people who may deserve it.

Currently when players form a pre-made party of less than 4 players and jump into the Duty Finder to fill up the remaining slot, those in the pre-made party are unable to give commendations to the player who joined via Duty Finder, even if they've done a great job! While the restriction against vote commendations for pre-made players will remain, the team is looking to allow everyone to vote on those who joined via Duty Finder in around the release of patch 2.3.

So always be sure to thank your new comrades in arms for a job well done!

My vote goes to whoever stands out the most, is the most helpful, or did great in the run usually gets my vote. If no one did I may or may not decide to just hand one out to whoever didn't leave immediately. I kinda hate when everyone just defaults to the heals or the tanks (though I'm not complaining, I got my 100 commendation prize lol). DPS never get so much love because they have the "easiest job", but if I feel one deserves it they get my vote (like the BLM who healed toto-rak last night up through the second boss before a healer finally joined the in progress run. We beat the bosses too.).

Considering that they have a ton of stuff in development for the game I assume they have priorities and deadlines to meet for content. Stuff like allowing all to vote commendations to players that joined through the duty finder likely takes a back seat to say balancing the next primal fight or fixing bugs.

I'm pretty sure someone mentioned this already, but it seems odd that you can not commend someone that leaves the instance before you even get a chance to open the commendation window. Even if you have commendation window open with their name there, it would be grayed out, so you can't select them. (unless if I'm remembering it wrong...)

Aside from that, the way I commend is more or less random
-Commend someone that actually did an awesome job that is way out of the normal scope of things, or have saved the fight from total failure.
-Commend a DPS that actually bothered to use their LB at all during any point of the DF dungeon
-Commend a random DPS
-Lastly, quickly and randomly commend someone that hasn't already left the instance, which usually in PvP everyone leaves before I can even open up the commendation window

It does seem odd ya, but now that everyone knows how it works its their own fault if they leave early.

Also, if they leave that early, they're not interested in rewarding others with commendations either, and as such, they don't deserve one themselves.

..Why? If a DF person thinks you did a good job they can commend you, why should they not be able to just cause you came in with someone else?

Because it's not really a fair grouping. Tank+healer queue together they're almost 90% guaranteed to get the other two commendations leaving the 2 DPS with no chance. Also if the group is a party of 3 and a random 4th there is 0% chance they can earn a commendation. If there is a restriction then commendations should only be receivable and giveable by people queueing solo in my opinion.

Well, no - it might also be that they skipped the cutscene and quickly decided who to commend and left just after that/after saying bye. It is what I do anyway, unless I feel like complimenting the others for a great run before exiting the instance. I'd rather let them commend those who left anyway, if there was a simple way to make it possible. To be honest, I even find a little embarassing standing in front of the loot chest/exit like a jackass waiting for someone to go out first.

1. Person that stated they were new to the dungeon or new to the role at the start and performed well, listening to all advice.
2. Person giving advice/strategy effectively and patient with new people. (#1 if I'm the one that's new)
3. Tank if they preformed well, held aggro, and took it back if lost.
4. I usually play healer, so if the above isn't true, whichever dps took adds off me.
-If I'm not healer, healer in a heal-heavy instance, or if the tank wasn't great, but they did well regardless.
5. Best dps

No one if everyone was terrible. (This usually doesn't happen.)
